150k ce is far too high. It is incredibly rare. But i believe 10m crowns is out of the question. I think something in the 3-5m is more likely, with 5m being on the higher end of what will be attainable.

A few of them have been sold on the AH from time to time. I've seen a couple go for 1-1.5m, and one go for a little over 2m. However, if one wants to maximize the sell price, then one would have to wait until a rich player had his heart set on this shield. This is much more likely to happen if you just leave it in inventory until someone is avidly and loudly searching for one. Anytime you are selling an item and you are the one trying to drive interest, the price is lower than if you waited until purchasers came looking for it.

I'm a merchant who has a widely liked playing alt :)

I seldom troll on these forums (though one could find a few trollish posts if they looked hard enough), I'm 99% respectful to every member and exceedingly helpful, i'd like to think. You'd have to try much harder to find examples of me being rude or mean than you would of me helping facilitate commerce.

When i see one person trying to sell something and another trying to buy something I don't even try to step in as a merchant intermediary, but rather put the two together. EX) Ishmailmorg was trying to sell an xtra tall. Schmucking was trying to buy, i put them together and they made the trade--this despite the difference being such that i could have bought and sold for a small profit.

Also, when i do post things that seem a tad critical on people's posts its always for one of the following three reasons (with rare exception):

#1. To try and help the OP sell an item. I have a good handle on the market of things, and while some misinterpret my motives, I will often let someone know if they are asking for something unreasonable. This isn't in an effort to shame them, its because in many cases i believe they sincerely want to sell the item but are mislead on its worth or the best way to go about selling it. [ex: see recent mayhawk wts xtra short thread. I helped him with both pricing, the best way to go about setting up an auction, and even got him started with the min bid--which subsequently got overbid]

#2. I feel the original poster is trying to take advantage of the uninformed. While any deal the makes both parties satisfied is a good deal, there are exceptions to this. Such as someone who comes back to teh game after a year or so off and is trying to sell a G1 rose set for 10-20k ce. While most "despised merchants" will jump on it and resell for massive profits, i'll just tell them of the rare treasure they have. [example: an knight named blyto was trying to sell a G1 red rose set in trade chat the other day. I whispered and asked and he said 40k ce buyout. I have the CE for it, but instead i gave him links to teh bazaar for various G1 rose sets and explained to him that it was worth 15-30k ce more than that, depending on how long he was willing to wait to sell it.]

#3. I feel that something nefarious could be at hand, a situation needs more transparency, am genuinely confused about something, or natural curious. [ex, this thread. I felt as if it needed more transparency, that if you are going to hold an auction for a super rare item, and its being bid up 10m crowns at a time, there should be a name given to those bids--unless expressly asked to be kept off the list. Also I considered the jumps being made to be suspicious. Rather than 1k ce increments..100k crown increments, or heck, even 1m increments, this thing is jumping up 10m at a time. This defies common logic but is not impossible. And, and, and, unless they are asking not to be named--which some people do--i am curious to who these players are that so desperately want a darkfang shield. Who knows, maybe i'll find one tonight, and i could sell to the 2nd place bider :D. And while its not uncommon for some1 to bid anonymous, it is a little uncommon for there to be multiple anonymous bidders.]

I try to help the economy move, to help players move goods, give good advice when i can, ask for advice when i need it, make sure everyone gets a good deal, make sure no one gets ripped off (even if they are momentarily happy about the deal--not yet realizing they have been duped), and maintain the integrity of the Bazaar Forums. ---oh, and buy the rare stuff i want and sell the rare stuff i don't for a small profit--

So i ask you: why do i have to be a despised merchant's alt? T_T

lol 6.6m for ugly shield? not to mention it is 4 star and absolutely useless LOL humor me :D
