Zopy's Armor Idea: Armor Dyes

So I haven't been working on my armor redesigns as much as I would have liked to due to a few problems that have come up. The biggest one being the realization that people like the current armor colors and models. While that may sound kind of obvious, it still kind of put me off from working on redesigning armors for a while.
During my downtime and looking through a few fashion threads, I did notice the odd trend that the armors seemed to match a bit too well in some cases to the accessories. So I looked into it more and found that a LOT of the armors make use of the same color schemes as the accessories!
Working upon this revelation, I thought up some new ideas!

Make Armors have the ability to be dyed
What it says on the tin. Give armors the ability to be dyed the different color schemes (Cool, Dusky, Military, etc.)

Using an altered Demo suit as an example:

You may notice the fact that a few of these actually look like Demo suits that are already in game. You'd see the same thing if I did this on the Skelly line, Plate line, and quite a few others. They make use of the accessory color combos for the basic coloration of the armors. This was probably intentional from the start with the planned introduction of accessories after the launch of the game.

Implementing something like this would give everyone so many more costume choices and I'm sure everyone would like the little bit more individuality their Knight can get from it.
In technical aspects, I'm sure something like this is possible considering Minecraft, a fellow Java game, has recently implemented dye-able armors. Their system doesn't even use set colors and allows players to dye any shade of color they want! Whether OOO uses multi-layered textures like Minecraft or finds some other way (maybe alpha channels?), I'm sure it can be done somehow.

But how will we be able to tell the difference between the armors?
Give every armor a unique model. It would add even more costume options and individuality, granted it would take quite a bit of work. Plus, it gives me more reason to get back to work on making those armor redesigns if they'd actually serve a purpose like this.

Where do we get the dyes?
I'd personally like it if the dyes could be found in the Arcade, just to breath some life back into it. Maybe use the old fall back of having Basil sell them. They could even make the rarer ones from old Prize Boxes only appear in Treasure Vaults or be rare drops off of certain enemies.
I'd like it to be sellable, though I get the feeling someone will say bringing in another flow of Crowns will destroy the economy or some such.

What happens to our old Frosty, Surge, Hallow, and Hunter costume armor?
They'd all stay as costume armor as well as any armor that actually has an equivalent normal set of armor. If you want a piece of armor to be dye-able then you have to got through a certain process first.
Make it so that you have to take an armor to Bechamel and have him turn it into a costume piece before you can dye it. It'll create a minor crown/material/CE sink and gives Bech some more use. Hell, maybe even a new character could do it. The more Knights the merrier!

This would make it so that Knights would want some method to creating Proto armor, so it would be high-time OOO made a way for everyone to get their hands on them via a vendor or crafting.
Now, some armors that have truly unique color schemes like the Snarbolax coat and the Chroma line may have to be locked and undyable. Though, there's always the possibility of just creating new color sets for use in dyes and such...

~~~~~~~~~~
Amyways, that's the gist of what I thought up. I'm sure I missed something somewhere, so be sure to let me know if there's any problems and also what you think of the idea! Hope to hear from you all soon!
This can affect the economy. During such recolor promos, people buy lots of surplus energy to get what they want.
This reduces prices for a while and counters inflation.
Sure you offer an alternative since armors now have to be "porcessed" to be dyed but it might not be as effective.
what Juances said
This is a major way how OOO makes money off this game, with simple armor recolor promos.If we could do them ourselves, no one would buy the promos.
As much as the recolor promos have brought them money in the past, there's only so many times they can do it until the community gets tired of recolors and wants something new. If the reactions of the forums are anything to go by, there are already quite a few people who are getting annoyed at these reskin updates, so it may be time to try something new cosmetic-wise.
Plus with something like this, fans of armor lines who have gotten shafted since the introduction of the reskins would finally be able to have their own recolored armors. We could finally see what a Surge colored Skelly, Demo, and Gunslinger looks like!
Also, with the introduction of the Battle Sprites, there may already be a new avenue for OOO's future income. I'm not putting my hopes into them that they would be the fix for everything, but the Sprites certainly open up new options for OOO to make new money. Things like exclusive Sprite accessories, colors, or even getting new Sprites early via Energy Packages.
We won't know how those Sprites will affect the market until they're introduced though, so Juances and Klipik are still right. I'd say OOO can just introduce the new dyes as new promos, but going from the wide market of armors down to a single item would hurt unless they introduced a bunch at a time, but then they'd run out of color combos.
There's still an entire spectrum of colors to run through, though. The only original color sets they introduced are the Hunter and Hallow. Surge colors are ripped from the Voltbreaker line and Frosty from the Frostbreaker line. There's still a huge variety of pinks, deep purples, greens, oranges, blues, and just about every other color that OOO hasn't even touched on yet. That further extends to accessories that would still be undye-able, so there's still a ton of items available. So long as it doesn't go the route of Team Fortress 2 with bright lime and neon pink, we could be fine to sell at least three different color sets every couple of months considering the number of accessories that would go along with them.
Though with so many possible accessories, it might behoove OOO to introduce a way to buy entire sets of a certain color of accessories with Energy Packages. It would keep the accessory market alive and not make certain colored accessories dwindle into nonexistence due to rarity. This could extend even further into the available eyes and height modifiers. It would give Knights a surefire way to get the cosmetics they want instead of taking their chances with the Lockboxes. Granted you wouldn't be able to buy them all from a small Energy pack, maybe only the available ones for a certain accessory slot or maybe even fewer. That would be more up to OOO, since they have an entire overview of the SK market and what sells and what doesn't.
Moar Cosmetics, you say?
Side idea- maybe they could release them as preview-promos, sort of- you could buy the boxes or other promo thing and get the releases early, or wait until the event is over and they would be available in lockboxes or as dyes or whatever.
I think this is a good idea, but probably keep it a bit simpler by being able to buy all the dyes from the same vendor, like the one who sells personal colors.
But yeah, +1 :)
Well, the truth is, I love this idea ^^ But, as Juances and Klipik mentioned above.............it will really effect the economy.................Either for the best, or the worst
