I'm on my laptop right now, which is in no way outdated, but if you want the information anyway it's a Macbook Pro 15" running OS X Lion 10.7.5, it's processor is a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, and my graphics card is an Intel HD Graphics 4000 384 MB.
I've played before on the desktop computer but I would like to have it on my laptop. I was originally using Google Chrome, but as I went to download the game it says, "missing plug-in." I click the link to Java, and it says it Java 7 won't run with Chrome. I switch to Firefox, but again the same thing happens, "missing plug-in." I downloaded Java 7 after having already downloading what I thought was Java from "softonic.com," of which I am now slightly suspicious. I tried to delete the softonic .dmg file but it repeatedly says, "the operation can't be completed because the item is in use."
I try again to download Spiral Knights and this time follow the link that says something like, "having trouble downloading Spiral Knights? Click here." I download the game and now I keep getting, every time I open the application, this window:

It is quite possible that I made a horrendously stupid mistake, and for that I apologize on wasting your time, but if someone could explain what my problem is and how to fix it, that would be cool. Thanks.
Yes, apparently it's an Mac OS bug with Java. Uninstall Java and install an older version of java.
