Well, for starters I think the education systems should tell the truth and stop propagating a bunch of false accounts and flat out lies regarding his life and travels.
Right, but why continue spreading phony accounts and information? I'm not saying just dump every fact on students right away, but do not include false accounts just to fill the textbook page quota or to tell a cute story to the kiddies.

So many history books/courses feed misconceptions/lies/false accounts (however you want to label them) to students. Why do books still have the same BS in them? I guess it is just too easy to borrow from the work of another text or make little rhetoric variations than start from scratch and publish history books that actually contain history.
Pretty much once you hit high school they'll unveil the truth. Columbus: Slave trade, genocide, lots of bad stuff.
Right, but why should kids not be taught truths of history until high school? If that is how people want to run history courses, just don't teach history till high school :P
