I don't quite feel like I can help my teammates out if they're chatting and being melee attacked for the moment. My proposal is simply that shields work like they do in for Guardians in Lockdown by protecting your teammates in case they are standing in the shield. No insane range or super regeneration, of course. I just want to be able to tank hits for my friends. It's more relevant now than ever with the increased popularity of defender classes.
Make shields block for other party members.

The shield does help block attacks for teammates, it just adds up to the damage done to your shield health.

I'm referring to when the teammate in question is being melee attack. They will be hit if they don't move or the enemy is interrupted.

At most I believe is that there will be a knockback, but no damage.
