Hey guys, I was confused about the battle pets, so was it minerals or materials or both, that we might need to evolve them, when they come out?

You will need a moon stone to evolve certain ones. Sometimes you might even spot fully evolved ones hiding in tall blades of grass and will be able to catch them using a special type of ball. Not free of course, will cost roughly 2k CE a pop.

Don't even get started on trade evolution....now were going to have to trade our precious spiralmons after paying the 4k to unbind and we have to make sure the other person doesn't wonder off with our spiralmon... D=

You can't unbind their love towards you. You can sell them but they'll return to you after a while.

Living? What do you mean, these things are machines programmed to feel companionship with the user for better synergy in combat. Sure, it might seem like you're its friend, but a nice 2kCE unbinding fee will make them forget you ever existed.

But they were mutated by the energy waves from the Core. So now they could be living. I wouldn't want an unbind fee on a living creature. If they are able to play with you in your GH or in Haven or something and use then emote commands with them then yeah I'd call that living, along with it being FREAKING AMAZING. O_O
