A mechanic that will probably have old users and new users come back to Spiral Knights, even if it's for like 5 minutes. Upon logging in each day, knights can be eligible to spin for login rewards. The reward is available every day after 12 midnight (00:00), GMT (or PST, whatever is preferred), world wide. This means that a player can log in at 3pm PST and get a reward, and then log in at 4pm and get another reward.

Rarity with daily logins increases by one up to 7 days. The reward is selected from a weighted random number generator (RNG). The quickly changing images of prizes is for effect, giving the "spinning wheel" feel to the reward. The below list is an example and can be subject to change.

If you login 0-2 days in a row, you can receive one of following rewards each day:
- 1000-3000 Crowns
- Crafting Material

If you login 3-5 days in a row, you may get one of these rewards each day:
- Any of the above
- A small amount of heat given to any random weapon.
- Lockbox
- Mini Mist Tank
- Trinket Slot

6-7+ days in a row:
- Any of the above
- Recipies (2* - 3*)
- Heat amplifier
- Mist Tank
- Weapon Slot
- Discount off next CE Purchase

Not logging in a single day resets your counter to 0.
EDIT: Items can't be sold, dropped, or traded.

Multiple accounts with multiple characters will collapse the economy in 5 seconds.
It's pretty much unlimited money.

What about this?

Loging each day and u get a token, alt doesn't count of course....after getting enough tokens, the knight can exchange goodies with Brinks.

30 token-iron lock box
200 token-mirrored lock box
20 token-trinket slot/compact supply packX10
50 token-weapon slot/ standard supply packX10
160 token-silver key/ delux supply packX10
1000token-bechamel's little friend
500token-monster pokets(?)
...and so on

this way, the reward won't collapse the neconomy, 20 token=20days which means not much money can be earned. And besides, OOO can always make the tokens perchasible by crs or CE, which is actually good for enconomy

Basically... people who have alts would become rich with this even if those stuff ask a big amount of tokens. because it just matter of "log on"

making all rewards bound would help?
besides, I think it should be little rewards. I know a game which economy was broken for variuos reasons, and then got throw up farly rare stuff on daily prizes because "well, economy is broken!".
since economy still stands, little things. no, not crowns. maybe materials, or accesories, all bound ofc. tokens would do too, but only if the rewards are vanity only, like costumes. no, not promos, new costumes. that means it will never happen.

The 'veterans' will complain about unremovable T1 armors cluttering their inventories.

Things you can give:

Nah... I was thinking about a prize wheel.. Each day, when we login, a prize wheel would appear with prizes.. I dont know maybe 1000-2000cr, some heat, etc... Like the prize wheel at the end of a floor.

But on the topic, a normal elevator prize should show up if you log in for five consecutive days (the T3 prize wheels).

Elevator passes isn't free. It's something you buy with real money. If it would appear in the prize wheels, then people would be able to get them for free without buying them with real money.

2 options, both could work.

How about we get materials? that way it helps, but won't be game breaking as most people don't buy or sell materials, but almost everyone uses them. Or we could just not have this seeing how it is a good suggestion.

10-300 Crowns seems a fair amount to me.
Lockboxes? Sure.
Heat? But what if you can't heat anything? Well then, somebody link me to the heat bag/container thread.
If that would work, Heat Containers should go here.
Materials? Sure, yeah. But make them 2*+ so they are actually useful.
Confetti? Yeah.
Item Slots? Sure, but make them last 1-3 days or something. This way it wouldn't get that abusive.
Prestige? Only little amounts, then.

Offtopic: Why doesn't OOO spam (Iron) Lockboxes at players like Valve so the players buy keys so they get the stuff? It would be far more profitable rather than giving them like 30% chance of being dropped from a Prize Wheel.

inferno has a point with the lockbox thing. Give the mirrored lock boxes the current find rate of lock boxes and make lock boxes be slightly rarer then getting full health or 50 crowns.
