After the patch my left shiftkey doesn't work ingame.
But outside the game it just functions normally, I don't know why I can't choose it in game
When I press right shift it works on the costum controls. But Left shift doesnt...

Check if it's your modifier key. If you don't know how to do that, hold left shift and hit another button at the same time.
I have the same problem. The game will not let me bind anything to the left shift button. This is extremely frustrating to me because ever since I started the game a few years ago this has been my block/shield button and now all of a sudden I can't bind that action to it anymore.
