Would people complain aboute Elite being too easy if...

...OOO blocked out:
- armor offensive bonuses
- weapon UVs
- totally disabled sword and gun charge attacks
- lowered attack speed for swords and guns and raised charge time for bombs by two stages for each
- battle sprite perks
- weapon and trinket slots and removing the arsenal stations
- totally removed vitapod, heart and consumables drops
- put enemy gates for each spawn not allowing to progress without killing the enemies
- penalty of death would be having to retire the run

I would play that like hell, even as a new difficulty.

lol, most of that wouldn't even affect me anyway. And the only trinkets I use are usually status/defence trinkets.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just make a fourth difficulty level after elite? Elite isn't too easy for everyone, just like advanced isn't too easy for everyone, and there's even people that normal isn't too easy for believe it or not.

I'm sure the -2 stages of ASI on swords would affect you more than you think, especially, when from what I remember, you use Sudaruska or Triglav (don't remember which one).

@ Thimol MMORPG actually need you to fight,

SHMUP you die one shot, that's what some people want.

the problem

The problem with your plan is that it would discourage people from seeking UVs, crafting diverse sets, and buying trinket slots. All of these contribute to Three Rings' revenue.

UVs and crafting obscure sets are also major reasons why endgame players keep playing. So, while you're giving endgame players something new to do, you're simultaneously removing a different thing that they want to do. (Yes, I know that you're not removing it. But you're decreasing its role in the game.)

Every update, without fail,

Every update, without fail, we get some genius complaining about the update that hasn't tried it because they don't even play the game anymore. We've even had somebody complaining about an update and then saying they haven't even had SK installed on their computer for a couple months. No matter what the update is there will always be people that complain about it simply because they like complaining.

So yes, people would complain if those changes were made. And Bopp gave a pretty good reason why something like it wouldn't be implemented in place of the current Elite mode. Also a new difficulty should be made more difficult by adding something to the game, not taking away half your attacks and making the gear you've acquired (and spent a ton on for some people) worse than vanilla.

I can't see OOO adding new attacks/ai to a difficulty setting when they could add that new stuff as a new Tier; who knows what if ever will we get beyond the core, they might coming up with some new good enemy attacks, would be a waste to give the players that already from Tier 1. There is also plenty ways to make the new difficulty coexist with the current ones while not making the players play it only exclusively by adding exclusive for it rewards at the end of each floor and removing crowns/rarities drops to further split it from the current difficulty settings. Stuff like an exclusive crafting machine at core that'd require materials that only drop in the the new difficulty and allow to use your crafted weapons/armors/helmets as a base and then let you change their damage type/change status/defenses/resistances while not being able to change the ratio (like say, you could switch Mad Bomber to Shadow/Elemental and get rid off shock penalty and instead add a curse penalty) or add statuses to weapons at the cost of the damage, or remove the statuses at the cost of boosting the damage. Or maybe even, a weighted point system would allow you to let go off the offensive bonuses and gaining from it additional health or status resistances. Rules like changing to an already existing, similiar in ratio craftable variation of the equipment being not allowed would have to exist.

No you wouldnt. You'd play it once, never play it again and then blame and mock people who complain.

On topic now: I think a better way to go about difficulty in this game is remixing what types of enemies spawn together or how they react to more weapons: imagine roboknights that keep their distance if the player is charging it's weapon or turrets firing at different speeds from one another so you have fast bullets and slow bullets at the same time or heck, even menders and silk wings that stop healing if it's buddies or it get poisoned or cursed.

One super hard gate with no arsenal stations except in the Basil floor that works as a challenge run would be neat, I admit but removing features and abilities is a dumb way to go about because it would get super boring only using the same limited number of weak actions to clear levels; basic attacks to kill multiple monsters, specially with increased health, doesnt not sound like more, more like a chore.

I think the top few things OOO could do to most mess up Elite mode would be:

-Changing attack speeds of all weapons. Yes, even bombs. And the charge speeds, too. (This makes all people with a muscle-memorized attack plan DIE.)
-Maybe even changing the regeneration rates of shields, why not.
-Changing the movement speed of monsters. You'll never laugh at a Greaver again.
-Changing the attack speed of monsters, as in, both the speed of the attacks and the time between them. Call hax on T3 Menders.
-Removing health/Belt item drops, or at least lowering the rate of these drastically.
-Making monsters explode upon death.
-Increasing the magnitude of all Statuses. No immunities now.

NOW go run a Danger Mission on Elite.

My old hope for Elite difficulty

Now you see my main hope for Elite Difficulty back when it was first announced is that they would rollback a good deal of the nerfs that have accumulated over time as opposed to what they actually did of pumping up the stats of monsters.

how about adding a toggle on enemy AIs? more difficult AIs would mean more loot and a huge chance of dying, seems legit.

It seems like this new mode would just encourage pinging mobs from miles away with gun spam. If you're going to punish mistakes (or lag) that hard, people are just going to turtle. It doesn't really fix any of the current issues that make Elite easy in many eyes, it just artificially inflates the punishment for failure through the ceiling and makes success lengthier and more tedious.

The biggest detail would be accidentally picking vitapods.

For the rest, you can simulate it yourself. Wear spiral plate and a bolted blade. Unbind the charge and vial keys.

@Raisinfist right now Elite is too easy me and m friend went at Elite FSC in 3/4 star (4 star sword, and shield, 3 star armor, and 2nd wep) to see what it was like, it was a joke, same fighting style, same everything, just mire health, and they do more dmg... whoop

My point, I'd LOVE to try that version!

Or go into the run without a shield. Remove any means of def. from your current loadout.

On an unrelated note touhou 14 full ver. Came out.

So if elite full party (4) can be done with 3/4 star, pertty sure you can all do it with 0 star or proto. Run a decon tier 3 with all those conditions.

So the thread is derailing.

I'd like to remind ye that on nightmare mode we had 0 shields and energy draining. Some weird creature bashed me down and I was hoarded by chargers.

But anyways, being too hardcore could harm a little bit of sanity. If someone came back with another kind of killer face, somebody is responsible for it.
