Sorry to be the grouch disturbing the atmosphere..
I feel the kat event doesn't work without mist.

You had 100 mist to find a black kat in the past, further than that you were either paying CE, or an ele pass.
Both of which are supporting OOO, which I don't mind gives players an advantage.
But now, in a chance based event we have an infinite number of tries.. meaning the outcome changes.

When it comes to digital content, we impose an artificial scarcity upon it.
Otherwise, there is no value to be held by this content.

If that balance is to be kept, the chance rate of encountering these kats should be lowered in relation to the infinite times (theoretically)
someone can hunt them.

Discuss.

I ran through about 10 candlestick keeps and found not a single kat.

Oh yeah, I might need to say this: currently can't acces the game. Only going by the release notes.
If I am wrong in not having all the details please correct me.

People still need energy to craft the 4 and 5 star Kat helms.
This promotion is still promoting energy use.

Yes. The Kat promo has always been one to take more CE out of the game than in.
I'm just a bit confused to as why there are 2 promos taking Ce out back to back as it where.

My only other gripe was that the chance based system upon which this promo is built would be out of balance.
However, seeing the forumposts leads me to believe the chance of encountering a black kat/obtaining a drop has been diminished.

@Fehzor "I ran through about

@Fehzor "I ran through about 10 candlestick keeps and found not a single kat."
so my 1 kat in 5 floors is pretty lucky...

To be clear, we don't all have the luxury of staying home all day grinding CSKs for Black Kats.

Punch is always there, Black Kats aren't. So Black Kats it is!

Mist isn't what's making this event not work; not being able to invite your fellow players to kats is.

Without that element, the event just basically makes you speedrun Alone in the Dark alone for a week. Even after the atrocious update last event that made the book be randomly distributed to one person in the party, I still managed to scrounge up a group of players inviting eachother for the maximum amount of pages acquired by having an agreement on how we'd handle books if we found them.

Now there's nothing. There is no reason to speak to anyone for the following week. You can speedrun dungeons faster if you're alone, and the speedrunning loses its charm after a couple of days.

I ran candle sticks and a few

I ran candle sticks and a few other levels for 3 hours and only got 3 Kats. The should increase Kat spawnrate, and ai heard getting a Kat was 1-3% but that's most likely wrong.

I can see the reasoning behind it. Without limits on joining people you'd become some kind of reverse Santa, picking up presents across the world for free.

I'm not gonna write a lot about it, I just feel that if you rework the entire game mechanics you can't just copy/paste a previous promo into this new game.

Inviting friends and guildmates to kats was a mutually beneficial arrangement.
