Simple idea, go to punch, pay ce or cr, name weapon and craft. I would love to name my new cleaver "the vorpal blade".
Ability to rename weapons
I would love to be able to rename my crimson hammer "Meh Boomstik" on my bomber.
We can name our Sprites whatever we want without a fee. So long as this is the same, fine. If not, no.
I'd hate to inspect someone and see their combuster names "lite yo azz up"...
No.
What if somebody makes a bunch of weapons that harm or insult one another?
@Sky Then someone reports them and they get that privilege taken away? Or do the same as what would happen if sprites got named like that. +1.
@Terra-Necro
@Skyguarder
Then... it'd be exactly the same as if they named their sprite something like that? Or their character? Or their public guild hall?
I thought of something like this too,a nametag you get from supply depo or the general goods merchant for energy or crowns.It would be funny to see peoples reactions at lockdown after getting killed with a weapon that has a silly name.
+1
I also think it would be viable to extend it to all equipment, not just exclusive to weapons.
Of course newbie will have a hard time to find the weapon's real name
Unless they know how to search wiki, but most of them not
@Aplauses kinda agree with u. But newbies problems is not my problem :D i would like to name my freezing vaporizer mk2 'made by north pole'
+1
And @Pixlator/Aplauses
Well what about if a nub inspects our armour and they see a Combustor named "Flamey Flame". Now what I think should happen is when a knight scrolls over the weapon it would say something like.
Flamey Flame
(Combustor)
or vice versa.
This way it could show both the name of the weapon and the nick-name.
We could do it TF2 style. They can be renamed and it just shows the real name under it. I agree that it should cost something though. I can already see the amount of "Suck my big D***" on the troika line or something if it was free. I would also like to rename armor as well. The mad bombers new set name shall be "The Trojan Bomber"!
-1 to pay cr or ce for it but +1 to name for free. Naming weapons should be free because other games allow you to name things for free so why not this game. Awesome idea! :D
@Heal Just because you want to be cheap about buying a name tag doesn't mean you should give this a -1. SK isn't 'other games'
@Aplauses Sweet, I'm glad! :D
Having a cost applied to doing this is perfectly sensible with OOO's new payment model of "cosmetics and saved time". This would fall under "cosmetics".
Hope it's at least below 20k crowns, though. We already need to pay 50k for a color change, and the names of our equips are almost invisible unless someone inspects you or dies to you in Lockdown... Seems reasonable for it to be cheap.
IDK, It'll just feel weird if I can rename my pets but have to pay for weapons.
For some reason, it feels "okay" to rename pets on a whim. They're a lot more personalized than weapons, even if that just boils down to your choice in ultimates and perks...
I always wanted to rename my "Gran Faust" to "Queen Faust," for reasons unspecified.
It would be a rather nifty feature, just as you can rename weapons in Team Fortress 2 using name tags you either find rarely or buy. It would cost crowns, like I'd say 749 - 1,999 (price increases based off of the weapon's rating, such as a 5-star name tag will cost the most) for a name tag to rename it (since TF2's name tag price is 0.99 USD), and they can be purchased from Basil in the Haven Bazaar, the Auction House, or even through a trade.
Just, if it is renamed, I think it should have something on it to make it stand out, so new players won't be confused and think that's the actual name of a weapon they're fascinated by. I'd avoid the quotation marks, like TF2 uses, but maybe the color of the new equipment name could be prismatic, to match the player's Knight color and signifying they renamed it. Of course, renaming a weapon will make it bound to you, and unbinding it through Vise will remove the new name, so it'll return to its original state.
I kind of like the way renaming items is done in Dungeon Defenders. You have to max your weapon's level before you can rename it. I don't know what it is about that, but I kind of like the idea of earning your weapon's name. This would also help to discourage vulgar names, because the weapon would have to be level 10 before it could be changed so offensive names would be just that much harder to slap on all over the place.
I guess the issue with this is the question of what to do if the item is alchemized up to a next tier item. Any thoughts?
pff, I can forsee a massive storm of weapons [toothpicks] named "epic skillz' [lack of].
(Tapering cylinder affixed to a surface by an inclined plane) it. +1.
Suggested before, but yes,
