From what it looks like, it might have spawned out of those cages in Scarlet Fortress. It's the only explanation for why we finally see a Sloom outside of the preview event :)

I found a normal looking
I found a normal looking Sloom in a cage in Tier 2 Jigsaw Valley. It was definitely a Sloom since my partner got hit by it and fell asleep. So it looks they can only be found in monster cages now. :P

That is a Tier 3 version of the Sloom. The black is because the person who took the screenshot was playing on the lowest quality possible (with compatibility sync and another option enabled).
