Spiral Knights has been great up until now. Continuing to add new monsters and bringing back old, adding events whenever they arise. I believe they may want to take it to the next level. First with a continuation of their current story, and the beginnings of a new story.

Spiral Knights: Enter the Core
We made it to the core but we can't go further down yet. Some people believe Shadow Lairs are the cores, but it's more of a detour. We need the final chapter of the story, where we journey into the core to find the true origins of the planet, and what caused the Shadow Lairs to be brought fourth. This can be DLC or not, I'll play it regardless.

Spiral Knights: A New World
A number of Spiral Knights have crash landed on a completely different world from the other one with new unique weapon and monsters with completely different fighting patterns. If you beat spiral knights in one version, you can transfer your knight to the other world.

Constructs and fiends trade fighting patterns. Are given new unique designs.
Undead and Slimes have their fighting pattens traded. Also with new looks.
A race replaces Gremlins and have their roles traded with Beasts. Oh.. And new looks!!

A wold with new themes:
Rather than depths there's leagues or elevations. With this said the world of it's own will have it's own way of getting it's knights deeper into trouble.

Is this a good idea? I know this will take an extremely long time to do, with all the scripting and re-designing but I believe this will be fun.

what is the problem with this game? that in engame we have nothing to do.
what is the problem of the whole "new planet" idea? that once you're done, you have nothing to do. this doesn't slove anything, just delays.
also recicled enemies with new skins don't work well, cause it's always the same dumb enemies, always the same attack patterns, in short, it changes nothing.

Well, the whole theme is for

Well, the whole theme is for the monster types have their pattens changed, the weapons most players are used to using becomes void in comparison.. Such as constructs that easily avoid and dodge Polaris. Along the lines of making the gameplay more challenging to adjust to, they can make variants among the changes to make them their own unique monsters though..

Adding a new world will add more storyline content and possibilities for new DLC and expansions.

I never said the enemies would be Re-Skinned. I just said the pattens would be traded around so the players would have to adjust their playstlye. A new world will mean completely different themed looks..

So spiral knights crash into a planet then reach the core and escape only to crash again on a different planet....
Seriously, it could be a little more original

"Adding a new world will add more storyline content and possibilities for new DLC and expansions."

Nope. We only explored one portion of this world. Whatever new and exciting stuff you can think of can be put on the other side of the planet. Simple as that.

Random excuse: the core is locked, but there's a map that tell us we were trying to acces from the wrong side. Voila! Lore expanded.

Wow.. To shoot down my idea

Wow.. To shoot down my idea without a second thought.. I'm noticing that's what happens to every suggestion in this forum.. If it's locked from that side and you have to go around, to me, that's even worse.. To me a separate world with it's own unique lore is more interesting. How about this than..

Instead of crash landing on this separate world, they have found a properly inhabitable planet with it's own unique lore, and are getting distress signals from the original planet. Honestly you can do anything with the story, but I'm just trying to offer a catalyst..

After all, hearing that you entered the core from the wrong side is like hearing that "the princess is in another castle.."

and so we are settleled for three-four years, and then we are back here. my point still stands. think of alchemer shooting. people will find other ways to beat the crap out of monsters.
we need out-of-endgame content to match boredom. then we can begin expanding to a new world, if that's the case.
oh yeah, with this argument I can shoot down everything, I know. fact is, it works. and the fact you can't counter it won't move me.

Honestly waiting all this

Honestly waiting all this time, we have "One" DLC some costumes and "Battle Sprites." If anything, what we need most is more story for mainstream fans to become more immersed in, more newly themed world material that looks bright and refreshing, new monsters to offer older players challenge and newer players something fun and interesting, and maybe some new weapons and gear to match.. Lots of people have been on the demand for weapons but I think what's needed is among other things..

Modified Rank Mission Campaign
The Rank Mission campaign is going to be receiving an update that continues the story of the Artifact and introduces a new primary antagonist for the Spiral Knights. The framework for this story will allow us to further expand Rank Missions post-Vanguard.

New Tier 3 Boss
A new mission arc will be incorporated following the events of the Firestorm Citadel that will include a new boss monster for players to challenge.

More to Come!
This isn't all that we have in store for you, it's just all we can talk about right now. Many more exciting features are on the way! Keep an eye out here on the Spiral Knights forums for details on the above projects, and more.

I think your idea isnt neccesary due OOO is working already on something "Post-FSC" we dont even have our main antagonist to "jump to Second episode" we barely would meet our new antagonist and get more lore, just because they havent told us all the story doesnt mean we need a whole secomd episode. "we barely have read the first page of this book".

New missions, New Lore, New bosses, we going to get a lot of new stuff along the way with those implementations, and its barely the first episode, "With your idea" will take a year or more to complete because is "completely a new world".

But we didn't finish episode one yet.
They are already working on a new story.

Pretty much this along with Nick post, said everything. just give them Time, yeah it sucked that they give everything to new players, but now at least old players will get more stuff now.

.

I like the sound of Spiral Knights: Episode 2, but not the actual suggestion you made. I think all new surface-based exploration that takes place after the Core in the story would be fantastic. Instead of elevators to new areas, you could ride gondola lifts. Why do we need to go to a new planet when there's still stuff to explore on this one?
