I propose a Rainbow Brandish line upgrade path to follow the Cautery Sword 3* upgrade all the way to 5*. The sword should continue the normal damage line that the Cautery has, as well as adding more family damage bonuses and retaining it's normal damage.

3* - Cautery Sword - Red/White stripes, Damage bonus vs slimes

4* - - Red/White/Yellow stripes, Damage bonus vs slimes, beasts, fiends. (Subject to change)

5* - - Red/White/Yellow/Blue stripes, damage bonus vs all families. (Yes)

The purpose of this sword would be to allow for a greater variety of armor to be considered effective in the eyes of the community while lacking damage bonuses. A normal brandish would also be an excellent side-arm for bombers and gunners, competitive with the Leviathan line.

Damage bonus versus all is a bit OP.

It would make Leviathan obsolete.

I dunno...

This seems a bit OP. Why not just have a seperate path for normal damage. It'd basically be a Leviathan with a normal damage Acheron-before-the-buff charge, like how the Brandish is basically a calibur with a different charge.

LOL. Damage bonus all families would just be Damage bonus, which still wouldn't out power any other brandish.

But let's look at some specifics. Nightblade outdamages Cautery Sword 3*. At 4*, carrying a VP would probably be more effective in all cases, which is quite sad. At 5*, forget it. I'm going full Glacius right now (with an occasional weapon for knockback utility) and I can still knock out any beast you throw my way. Gremlins are tougher, but really? I mean really? It's not that hard.

"Competitive with the Leviathan line" Uhh...It totally out powers Leviathan except in looks and in the Nitro knockback 360 power which you really don't need when you can knock anything in a straight line about 6 blocks backwards. It would outpower the CIV too.

"for a greater variety of armor to be considered effective" Not at all. It just makes the same armor considered more effective and other armors less effective.
