In first place, I am NOT! sure if someone made a thread about this recently, or long time ago. (At this point I should check)

Anyways, so as the title says, costumes for Lockdown! There are several points of why adding this (I'm not thinking of the cons at the moment) that I am really interested about.

-Everyone likes to kill with style! The better it looks when you do something good, (okay, this is subjetive, meh.) the better it feels!

-This also will add something interesting to Lockdown: Enemies will not see your armor, pretty much, this should make harder (a lot of course~) to know what's the enemy weak too, laying on some luck, attacking with the correct weapon, or not.

-Humanoid Impostoclaus in Lockdown (And bombheads).

The points aren't strong at all indeed, and not many, maybe I am missing some pros at this (the cons will probably have more worth and quantity), but I just would love to know your opinions, and see if this is possible.

Have a good day.

Why do you think costumes weren't permitted in Lockdown in the first place? Players can hide their equipment underneath a costume.

Ah, I see.

Well. Probably that was the problem that I counted as a pro after all. Thanks for your attention Hex.

lockdown is essentially

lockdown is essentially war... and all is fair in love and war. it's common place for deception, it's not cheating, it's an advantage, and advantages help to a certain extent.

in all honesty, it really doesn't matter what you wear, a good player can still kill a pierce max jelly with a toothpick

give us our style, seriously... chaos is ugly

RuneScape disallows costumes in PvP as well. It makes sense really.

Hiding vital information from a player in the middle of a competitive PVP game is detrimental to how the game is played.

In short, no.

it's technically not vital,

it's technically not vital, and that argument is flawed since OOO intentionally shows you a false information window about the weapon that killed you. level 1, and not showing the proper UVs...

i mean TECHNICALLY, dread skelly should never die to a GF... but use a GF and dread skelly becomes dead skelly

skolver still dies to toothpick switching, which is yet another broken concept, the switching tactic.

Defensive sets not being really defensive is just a matter of OOO's faulty programming.

If some nutjob has full inspect turned off, they could very well wear Chaos as costume, and have Mercurial underneath. You won't have time to wonder why the hell the Chaos guy is a Shock walker until after you're already dead, and you'll never be able to inspect them to see what they have.

the same way OOO forces

the same way OOO forces costumes off, they can force inspect on. and upon death, give you a button to check exactly what your killer has

Knowing OOO, they'd find some way to mess up something as simple as that.

i see this as a chance to

i see this as a chance to turn recons into true spies. if recons can stay cloaked near a player long enough, it can expose their gear information

The Recon class could use some rebalancing in general. And maybe even some minimap interference for good measure.

recon class should give a

recon class should give a move speed increase only when shielded. it's meant to be a sneaky class that gives the illusion of being incredibly fast.

striker class should HONESTLY have a -6 health penalty, since it utilizes no shield, only speed.

guardian should be insanely buffed on sword damage, with a debuff on charge times

Strikers should have a percentage decrease of health bonus, but otherwise left as they are

Guardians should have percentage increase of health bonus, percentage received damage decrease, damage bonus, but slower attack speed. In addition, PUT IT IN THE TOOLTIP THAT IT ADDS STATUS RESIST.

Recons need some sort of other utility, assassination, or mobility options to be able to duel with a competent striker. Health bonus is otherwise balanced.

But we're getting way off topic here...

right, i truly believe that

right, i truly believe that despite the lack of stat functionality of costume sets, they scould still have the functionality of deception, giving more of a challenge

This about sums it up.

What would be a much better idea is to remove the ability to turn full inspect off entirely. Just what is the point to hiding your gear anyways? None.

Who has the time to inspect every single player of the other team? Not to mention that players can change their equipment when in the ready room. That's just ridiculously counter-intuitive.

So you have to die to everyone in the opposing team before knowing what they have? And that's assuming that they never change their equipment during a match. Still ridiculously counter-intuitive.

Great theories, but reality?

I kinda like the idea. I mean, how many people actually change their equipment all that much? How many of you tailor your loadouts to the enemies you encounter? If the answer is "not many," then costumes in Lockdown really don't change anything, do they?
