I haven't played spiral knights in a long time so I wanted to check out this new winter event. I redownloaded it from steam and everything went fine until the game's client got to the part where it validates the patch, namely at 49 percent. The updater then gets stuck and starts using obscene amounts of CPU resources, slowing down my pc considerably. I tried updating java and my GPU drivers to no avail.
Game gets stuck at 49 percent validating and freezes up.

Hey, can you post your launcher logs found in the Spiral knights folder in steamapps/common. Id really like to see if they resemble whats going on with me. Btw when you revalidate, how many mbs and how many files are redownloaded. Check out my thread http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/95081
