[complaint] Well, seems I can't play anymore

I started playing Spiral Knights when you could still create accounts from Taiwan while playing through Steam (later on it was no longer possible to make accounts from Taiwan, HK and Macau, because those have their own regional services)

I've played hundreds of hours on my Steam account, have a very friendly guild, even purchased the DLC before it was purchasable with CE...
but the latest Steam update makes it impossible for me to even launch the game, as it was "activated with a product code that is not available in my region"

so what do I do? can't even log in to explain to my guildmates, or even unbind all my heated 5* gear

edit: can I somehow unbind my account from Steam, and connect through kongregate or any other method?

Sorry to hear this mate.

This is not a complaint but a legit problem, I suggest moving this to 'technical issues' so the people can help you there.

you could try the trick where you use the web client, select 'connect with facebook' and then log in through steam on the browser.

You can request having a staff member shift your stuff from the Steam Client to the standalone one, they might honor your request since it's a legit technical problem (not just "I don't feel like using Steam anymore")

Remove SK form steam then reinstall a fresh spiral knights (remove all sk folders)? Isin't it free for all regions anyway?

Seeing that my suggestion did not work, It is better to go with contacting support. (keep in mind you cannot abuse the account shifting. Mods probably will not like that)

@Mystrian, it won't let me install the game at all, since yes, the game is free for all regions, but it is not available in the Taiwan, HK and Macau Steam stores, so the latest Steam update (this same day) made it so that you can't even install games that aren't available in your Steam store (even though you used to be able to). Actually, when I updated Steam, it downloaded a SK "update", it turns out it automatically uninstalled the game for me -.-

@Usevnsevnsixfivfor, I don't think Mystrian's suggestion would delete my stuff, he just wanted me to reinstall the game :)

Hrm...

Did you redeem an iron costume gift on the account and are in the restricted area for those gifts? This might be the source of the problem, since I'm not sure where else SK+Steam would be geographically-restricted.

Do you have a dynamic IP? You may have gotten someone else's IP that was in a restricted area of which you should probably contact steam.

Have you enabled java in your browser? Seems like the problem could be that.
