Game Quits to Desktop (Steam)

It seems like the recent update has made it impossible for me to use SK. Every time I try to use my Steam Account, the game just quits to the desktop, and it doesn't matter if the password is correct or not.

And if I don't input my steam credentials, it creates a new character for me, when that clearly isn't what I want to do. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

UPDATE: Trying a fresh re-install did nothing.

I figured out the issue, guys

I figured out the issue, guys - turns out, it helps making sure that Java's updated to its latest version is something to do often. Feel free to delete this thread, if need be.

Actually

On the contrary, I have updated; my computer, steam, spiral knights, and java, and have had no success. Spiral Knights crashes at startup.

deleting threads

war lord mike, only you can technically delete your own threads. click edit at the top, the click on the dropdown box, and move the thread to the graveyard. and make sure that leave shadow copy is off, so that there isn't a link to a graveyarded piece.
