Its ridiculous when all of a sudden your teammate dies, and someone doesn't care about them and takes the boss tokens. Then that dead teammate gets nothing after all of the exploring. I've seen this happen alot at Vanaduke fights when one person dies at the end and couldn't revive. All party members should receive the reward regardless of being dead or alive.

+1 if you support

Yes, they should receive boss tokens regardless if they're alive or not. However, they should only receive 1-2.

+1 to Skyguarder's suggestion, or at least something like it. IMO dead knights should receive tokens, but 2 less than they normally would. So if they do most of the run to where they'd get 3 tokens, they'll get 1 instead, or if everyone gets 4 tokens, the dead knight would get 2, etc etc.

True to my name I am but a dream....

I like the OPs idea. It lets people go all out instead of stingily holding on to that last spark they have, only to revive once the boss goes into death animation.

Skyguarder's/Dibs's ideas make the most sense here. Allowing dead players to get the full reward would once again promote alt dragging, which is almost definitely the reason why it is like it is now.

I Agree!

I Agree to this, Dead Knights must receive 2 tokens, and the Knights who did most of the Arcade must receive 4...

Actually, the best option

Actually, the best option would be that if knights die shortly(0-30 secs) before boss tokens are acquired, they recieve the tokens in full but if they died longer than the specified time, they will not recieve anything.

Wait, you mean they don't?!

@Mr-Walk-Way
Nononono! How would you determine "usefulness"? Damage dealt? It will discriminate against support players.

Or the Fang of Vog nut who spams charges vs the JK to kill it before it can hurt the rest in his party.

An idea

I think the best way to solve it would be to just make the boss tokens instanced by individual player, like every other drop is now, instead of being granted in one big chunk to everyone. That would let people who died in the boss fight revive on their own and grab the tokens if they so chose, just like they would for any other item. I think the current system is more of a relic of the former distributed drop system than anything else. I've mistakenly grabbed the token after Vanaduck while one of my party members was still dead, which I felt really crappy about, so it'd be great to see it fixed.

+1 Dahall : Time limit

I'm against giving a guaranteed reduced token drop for being dead at the end, and more in favor of full token drops as long as the knight died within a certain time limit from the token spawn.

Reduced token drops for knights who are just lying down there gives even a little incentive to drag an alt with them, and rewards leeches for being leeches.

However, if there's a time limit (let's be kind and say, died within 1 minute of token spawn), then it allows people who have actually contributed to the fight to get their due rewards for their efforts (heck, staying alive long enough is effort, I guess), while people who were just tagging along and died early get the reward for their contribution (...nothing).
