I am a vet knight and recently created a new knight in one of my slots. The point of this new knight is to try and figure out what the best weapon and armor combo is. So far i have the cutter sword and autogun, with the saraphinx sprite. I am looking for the right armor and can't decide between the angelic set, the croma set, or the magic cloak and hood set. Please post your opinion below.
The best armor?
Offensive armors are your best bet if you have the slightest amount of ability and connection, so go for that Ironmight Plate Set.
Kidding, of course. Have a go at Wolver/Gunslinger/Chaos to get bonuses.
Also, you may have problems with just Cutters and Autoguns, so maybe consider a brandish? I ran so much faster when I restarted my Mega Magnus/Cyrotech/Master Blast Bomb account with 2 brandishes and a toothpick.
Offensive: Chaos Armor set. (For all your damage needs and non exclusive)
Defensive/Health: Ancients
Fastest movement speed: Quicksilver
Fastest gun speed: Gunslinger
Fire Resist: See Volcanic Armors
Etc..
Helmet: Black Kat Cowl
Armour: Chaos Cloak
Shield: Swiftstrike Buckler
Trinkets 1&2: True lurve lockets or Gift of Autumn?
Nope.
In terms of value for everything. (defense v. perks v. usability v. resistances)
Chaos wins. Swiftstrike Buckler wins unless I'm missing something extra from the magical event shells that I wound up trading my shards for.
Unfortunately this doesn't quite seem to be able to be fixed as everyone would be facing the RSS fiasco.... again, which might prove just a touch lethal.
Oh, btw, get Acheron, it's the only guaranteed weapon at its' yield-for-cost atm. If the gunner update goes as expected, autoguns will become an extremely hot commodity btw.
I'm not sure how much to tell you, because you are a "vet" and presumably know how the equipment in this game works.
This question has been asked many times. There is no single best armor. If there were, then there wouldn't be any purpose to having the rest of the armor in the game, would there? The equipment in this game isn't well balanced, but it's not that out of balance.
Most expert players know the monster AIs and are good at dodging. So they go for armor with offensive bonuses. Thus the Wolver, Gunslinger, Demo, and Chaos lines are preferred --- of course, also oddballs like Black Kat Cowl and Perfect Mask of Seerus.
The sets you've named have various upgrades, some of which are better than others. For example, Chroma armor upgrades to Deadly Virulisk (which is okay, but not good enough for anyone to seek out) and Volcanic Salamander and Arcane Salamander (which are terrible, because the offensive bonuses don't line up with the defense). Magic armor upgrades to Chaos (the most powerful offensive armor), Grey Feather (one of the most powerful defensive armors), and Divine (one of the most powerful defensive armors, although sorely lacking in normal protection).
I recommend that you plan all of your equipment in terms of 5-star items. I mean, don't pick the best 2- and 3-star items, and then get stuck upgrading them to bad 5-star items. Pick the best 5-star items, and then look back in their alchemy paths, to figure out how to get them.
