[Aesthetic] - Next time with the shiny weather promo items (rage/storm related idea)

Thoughts for next "weather" promo - storm/rage stuff - let there be ocean weather! The deeps are restless, and someone went ahead and insulted the aqua gods when we were on vacation during the Splash Promo.

Gods and unfavorable weather, you say? How bout next time (next year?) we have:

Blue! The tempest cannot be tamed! It will be a promo that salutes the violent storms of the seas, and the blubbery gods of the deeps, and the lords of where the horizon kisses the ocean, an eternity away, never reached.

Let's call them...Squall! (And Tumultuous for the "plate" mail).

Really though, I just want a shiny blue dragon helm. The white would make sense too! Parts of waves and sea foam are white and such, and the stormy/rage weather stuff always has white on it somewhere. This logic pattern is based on two events! Flawless!

Let the blue be cerulean...I loooove cerulean blue. Like these dark shades of cerulean blue. Plx.

Storm had "Eyes of Fury", Rage had "Tomes of Rage." Squall could have...my long-desired Shard Bomb Bandoliers! Instead of calling them "shard bomb bandoliers" we could call them "Shards of Wind."

In addition to these aesthetics, I'd like a weapon reskin for the Voltaic Tempest bomb, and the availability of The Third Troka - make this awesome (yet somewhat silly) attack-style weapon be available to players. It can be a single 5* unbox like the Celestial Shield, or be added to the game via crafting recipes, or even the mysterious alchemy machine. This is a zappy weapon, and what is zappy? A lot of kinds of weather!

Heck, we could even have little prestige missions related to these Weather Promotions - perhaps even hinting at potential future Aether Lairs (polar opposite of shadow lairs, but equally as corrupted)...since the lore on these armors is not only about being gods, but fighting them too...okay getting ahead of myself.

ANYWAY: voltaic tempest reskin: It would just be a constantly roiling, little puffy grey cloud that you hold in your hand. Occasionally blue-green electric sparks will flash around in it. It leaves behind the same particle effects as the Voltaic Tempest. I. Want this. SO MUCH.

And the year after that, shiny purple (or green)! For um... mint-berry crunch! (mature content)...I am serious about the purple though...shaaablagooo! I feel like he could summon a very tasty storm.

So the promo could have this stuff (I don't like putting the % chance per prize...it's arbitrary and silly to me...rares are more rare, there ya go):

Squall Box Contents:

Tumultuous Plate Mail
^This could have a very intense built-in Soaked Aura (squish squish walking sounds included but scarier sounding).

Squall Rider Mantle

Squall Crusader Helm
Squall Dragon Helm
Squall Warrior Helm
Squall Champion Helm
Squall Avenger Helm

Crest of Squalls

Wings of Tumult (hnnng shiny blue sheen with blue-green zappy yes hnnnng!)

Cool Shards of Wind
Dusky Shards of Wind
Fancy Shards of Wind
Heavy Shards of Wind
Military Shards of Wind
Regal Shards of Wind
Toasty Shards of Wind
Divine Shards of Wind
Prismatic Shards of Wind
Shadow Shards of Wind
Volcanic Shards of Wind

And a super-special: Tumultuous Shards of Wind - these constantly change between all the colors, slowly fading in and out. Disco time!
And a super-special:Midnight Shards of Wind - these are pure black. (Shadow would be shadow-orange in color).
And a super-special:Dawn Shards of Wind - these are pure white. (Divine has that yellow+blue thing going on - see Eye of Fury).

Voltaic Storm (The Voltaic Tempest bomb re-skin).
The Third Troka (whatever it will be called).

Each "Squall Prize Box" also has a chance for some Squall Caller confetti. This would look like a bunch of swirling, whirlpool-like wind, and have a bit of a wet splashy impact, like a tidal wave. Perhaps lots of bubbles (violent looking bubbles!) could be involved.

Other thoughts...the watery god Poseidon had a passion for horses. Perhaps we could even have "new" enemies, trojans that are all watery-looking - like a rare spawn, similar to mewkats/imposts etc...their charges look like rushing waves, and so on. This is only an aesthetic, their combat statistics would mimic a regular trojan's. I imagine they would be EVEN MORE ANGRY in the firestorm citadel, since that place is more dry than my humor without coffee, and a watery horse would be very uncomfy there. These trojans might hold great tridents...

Oh yeah! Trident weapon for players please.
EDIT: you guys decide what it should be colored like, behave as, etc.

And forum posters' ideas!

I quite like this! I would imagine the shiny blue armours would be quite pretty.

But, as for the Trident weapon you suggested at the end, would this be a complete reskin of a previous weapon? Or would it be similar in nature to the Apocrean weapons in which they are slight modifications on pre-existing weapons?

I was also thinking that this could affect the atmosphere of Haven as well. You know, make it all rainy and stormy to match the theme?

Hmm...I just woke up with this thought...

If you have the trident "out" when you shield bash, you could lower it and stick it in front of you as you bash, adding some slash to that bash. It wouldn't be as long and brawny as a Deadnaught/Trojan's charge, but it would feel very similar I think, more similar to the deadnaught than the trojan. Bash would still leave the knight vulnerable, and perhaps this "devastating" attack could have a chance to self-stun the user (like how the faust can curse the user, sorta) at the end of the attack. Massive knockback? Damage? Hit-tick things in a way that breaks those 3-hit boulders in the way just to feel more amazing?

I suppose that would make this trident a "lance" wouldn't it? At first I was thinking some sort of wand that summons thunderbolts and uncomfortable amounts of tuna, but hey! Lance fits the bill.

It would be a rather "unique" situation regarding weapons - something that is closely associated with shield use. Would it still have a regular attack? A charge attack? Both? Just one?

Regular attack - weak, slow side swipes (like the troika line), but these have nice reach - slightly longer than the triglav. Alternative: parrying behavior IF shield is equipped and unbroken (some knights actually play without a shield in PvE, so we can never make a weapon entirely dependent on a shield - that, and cause of PvP).

Charge attack - almirian spazz-out style, or...

The knight holds the trident straight up while charging (yes, it will look like a bomb. A very not-round bomb). Releasing the charge summons an energy bolt directly into and through the knight's trident as they slam the trident's blunt end straight into the ground, with a small radial AoE of zappy power-arcs - like a very concentrated bomb. Channel that thunder! Which would be more amazing? Of course, it would have to be balanced damage-wise etc, but I think the Trident would be more of a feel-good weapon than a field-plowing weapon like brandishes are. The arcs would deal damage as well as inflict status. Very aggressive, but, small area of effect.

This is an opportunity to have different kinds of tridents with shock/other status...a piercing+status trident with extra sharp pokey bits, an elemental+status trident...shadow+status...add or don't add normal to the base damage (actually, you could isolate the type damage to certain attacks too! like the regular attack = [normal dmg + no status], charge attack = [pure not-normal dmg + status], bash = [pure not-normal + no status]...HNNG), whatever makes it balanced.

Oh, the specific scenarios! A wonderfully unique weapon family regarding attack style as well as damage type combos is the potential here. A sub-family of lances, if they ever get released.

Of course, now I'm drifting away from the watery stormy-ness of this idea, but, I want a shadow trident for my "demon" cosplay now. Wah.

Squall Event?

Sounds like an opportunity to bring back:

Jaws of Megalodon!!!

As a costume, most likely. Let's not get crazy.
But yeah, squall. Tempest. Sounds good.

@Aeliondas

Thanks! I actually mentioned the Jaws and related items in my "Splashy Thoughts" thread - so, for the weather/squall, they could have...a SHINY version of megalodon (it could be a god-eater or something, and be specifically "new" since the storm/rage costumes seem to be a family of god or god-fighting forms...mantle/plate and those 5 helms)!

The costumes in the weather promos are metallic-ish, with a sheen. Hence, "shiny."

If not, just another splash-type promo "deep sea" could bring back Jaws.

Thanks for feedback!
