I have recently started a new knight and one of the earliest items you receive in the game is the fencing jacket, a 0* armor piece. This armor has a sword damage bonus medium. Is this bonus just has effective as the sword damage bonus from the snarby armor? I was just curious, thanks!
Hey, a quick question about 0*armor and its effects.
Midnight-Dj is right. Fencing Jacket and Cyclops Hat is now a classic combination. I recall Zeddy advocating for it.
Just buy yourself a Swiftstrike Buckler to with it and you can be a super hero! (made of glass)
I combine my Cyclops Cap and Fencing jacket every time I start a new character. I even ignore the Cobalt Line I get because the defense honestly can't compare to having 5 star offense. I only keep the Cobalt for the Hall of Heroes mission, then I vender it.
That set needs like a 0* shield that gives bomb ctr med. Its no fair. Or I guess you just get all of the 0* bombs w/ ctr uvs.
They give you CTR med Firecracker and Cold Snap as mission rewards at least.
I have made a bomber only account and I must point out that even with the Med CTR and moderate status they both pale in comparison the blast bomb you are given.
The good aspect of those bombs is that they inflict statuses, so they're useful even in T3. Meanwhile, a blast bomb which relies entirely on its damage requires upgrading to be viable in T3.
For a pure bomber a small freeze status blast bomb is rather lackluster because the enemy is either knocked around (not the point of a freeze bomb) or frozen (which will get broken by the next bomb) making it unpredictable (bombers rely on prediction), and the firecracker even with status and CTR doesn't compare to the damage dealt even by a 2star blast bomb.
There is a Static flash bomb which could prove a tad more useful, but considering it is a Purchasable item few have it, and the shock suffers from one of the freeze bomb's flaws (unpredictable knockback). I guess the shock status on it could help pull up its damage to undead/construct close to the blast bomb but lets face it, the blast bomb is upgradable and the little blast status bombs will sit at the bottom of your backpack rotting away (since T1 LD is dead, especially for bombers, and you can't upgrade them).
Short of helping with low tier oilers or ice cubes I don't think these two little bombs are much help. And all the static flash would do is set off quicksilvers.
I agree that Cold Snap isn't that good for PvE. It is, however, good for PvP. Good is an exaggeration, I guess. But it can be used and it's honestly pretty decent at its job, provided your opponent isn't competent enough to just not get hit.
Firecracker is the opposite to Cold Snap, I'd say. You're gonna get screwed if you use it in PvP because people will tank it and you will die. On the other hand, the moderate fire will be powerful in any PvE level. While a 2* Blast Bomb will fade in power as you get to T3, the fire of the Firecracked will be constantly useful, although probably not preferable when compared to the greater area and infliction rate of Ash of Agni.
Firecracker is, however, without a doubt a viable opener for a fight. Just drop one or two as you engage some mobs and you should set a few of them on fire, which will cause pretty decent damage while you fight the other ones with proper 5* weapons. Unless you use a Brandish and kill everything in a charge or combo, that is.
Imo, Static Flash isn't very useful. The lack of a guaranteed UV means you won't be able to deploy it as an opener in PvE as easily, and you can only use it in PvP if you have the gear for it or play Recon. The shock does offer some protection in LD but it's not quite the same as with VT since there won't be constant reinfliction. Honestly, I don't have too much experience with shock in PvE but I feel like it's something you should try to spread widely, not like a T1 bomb will allow.
Yes, it is, and that is why some ppl wear it up until RJP. Combine this with cyclop hat, you can breeze through anything before they distribute colbalt armour to you.
