Immortal: Dawn of Time
Looking at Sabo, Mono just sighed.
"I am right here demo-man. The guy with a gun in his face being threatened if I so much as even look at the wrong program. Then again, I need some parts for my suit. So, I knew you didn't like me. Ah well it happens, you just move on I guess."
Looking backup Mono reposted his question to the man with the gun.
"Still waiting for my answer."
"I'm considering that a threat, and a real bad one at that. You know all it takes is just for me to bring you back there, right?
So even if my orders are to bring you back to base and show you really WHY we're bringing you guys out of there, there's always that excuse that you attempted to blow up the ship.
And then you'd be back with the Dragons, who don't take threats nearly as well as any sane person would. You wouldn't want that, would you?"
A few seconds pass by.
"Are we in the radius yet?" the scale knight asks.
The other knight, in Shadow Plate, raises his/her hand with a small thumbs up.
"Alright...now I have the liberty to talk..." the scale knight sighs, before delivering a violent pistol-whip across Mono's face with the six-shooter.
"That wasn't for anything; you're just annoying.
Alright...Knights. I bet you're all dying to know (well, actually, only one of you is actually dying,) why we're doing the things we do. Most of it has to do with going against the Spiral Order.
You see, for years on end, the Spiral Knights has been the beacon of justice on Isora, if any of you guys can actually remember what it looked like. We were supposed to bring back the energy we found here, home with us.
How many years has passed, and what do we find? They're making this place OUR home. The families we've left behind...the crippled, the weak, they're sti-"
Before the Scale Knight even finishes, though, he suddenly gets his head pinned to the floor with a massive bolt.
And he screams a little, before his mouth gurgles up with blood, so instead, he ends up making horrible gagging noises.
[Knights?]
A familiar voice tentatively inquired through everyone's comms. Kora.
[I assume you hear me...we're getting you out. It was a struggle, but we had a double-agent help us.]
The Knight clad in Shadow Mail kicks the body aside, and opens the cockpit before spraying the pilots into perforated heaps of flesh. The door is torn open by a pair of hands, revealing a Knight clad in Valkyrie mail, very similar to Fiora's own armor : light, enough to fly one person.
Just in time, one could guess.
FIN PROLOGUE (Unless your character has a few things to say / ask before we go onto the next part.)
(If possible, I'd like to do a time-skip so we can actually get the real story going. Everything up to this point was just setting you guys up for a prologue. ^-^)
Oh wonderful, We're playing in a revolution.
I haven't done anything recently because I've had a streak of writer's block, and I've had a lot of stuff to do.
Including the obligatory "Get dragged everywhere because it's your birthday"
That's kinda all the more reason I wanted to do a timeskip and count this off as a prologue, since no one seemed really...actually ready for it with school and stuff.
Getting up Mono reached down and looked at the Knight who hit him.
"I kinda liked the hit. Made me feel alive. Also screw-you."
Standing up Mono just sighed as he walked over to the ships computer quickly taking it over for his own use. With in a short time he had take and locked a couple of the programs into place to give them a more sustained flight so they didn't need to worry about flying out of this tub. At the same time he quickly undid the lock holding his fellow knights.
"Honestly I would like some answers. Tell me, what is going on here? And can we go back to that Dragon, I have some unfinished bisness with that creature."
A slightly disturbed chuckle came from Mono for a moment, before dying back to his normal Mono-toned quit self.
Saboteur: "So, these spiral council guys want to take the core for themselves... what a bunch of heartless jerks... don't they know that if they take the core, this planet and everyone on it is going to die? Isora has been a pile of rubbles ever since the war long ago, when the Morai armada crossed the sea of stars..." *responds to Kora* "And who is this double agent of yours? Is he or she trustworthy? We spiral knights never forged an alliance on shaky grounds like that..."
[Saboteur takes a stroll inside drop ship after been freed. Finding a box of explosives at the end of the storage room, Saboteur replenished his grenades. Before he left the room, a strange apparition appeared in the ship window. A familiar face from Saboteur's past came to haunt him once again.]
Mezizas: "... It is almost time, Saboteur, your body and your soul would be mine...soon..."
Saboteur: "I am sorry Evangelyn, but I am not a 'one girl' guy... there are plenty of fish in ocean, maybe you should move on..."
Mezizas: "...You are a worthy vessel... I can't just let you go, I have been searching for someone like you for a long time."
Saboteur: "For how long exactly?"
Mezizas: "Aeons..."
Quiet for the last few events, Amy got up shakily. Without any reason to speak up, she moved to a window to see where they were going. Not knowing her location was spooking her.
[Dammit, we're NOT going to touch the Dragons anymore. If we provoke them, we're going to have one more faction out for our blood. That's something nobody wants. Sorry Mono, but you're not going to get your revenge, not unless you want to get more of us killed. Let's just leave our current relations at an official neutral, okay?]
~~~
[Saboteur, if you're curious, it's the one that just peppered the Council pilots. And no, information on his gun is strictly top-secret. Pretend it never existed.]
~~~
Before anyone could make another move, the knight clad in Shadow Mail ripped out a few chips from each of the Council Members, and subsequently pocketed them.
Mono's control over the ship disappeared soon after, only to be replaced by another entity's.
[Don't be alarmed, Mono, if you've lost cotrol. That's the double agent working. The one in Shadow Mail. His orders are to bring you all back safe and sound for debriefing, now that we found the Council's real base. That's all I'm allowed to talk about.
And Knights, your new team leader is Sgt. Opal. She should be coming into the craft about now.]
The Knight that had torn out the door walked in, and gave a little nod before getting onto a knee besides Fiora.
Meteko rubbed his wrists. They weren't exactly sore, but the restraints were awfully tight, even if it was only his. "New team... Aw, don't tell me Fiora's being replaced already?" He walked over to one of the windows, looking out over the vast unknown. "What is this place?"
((F-G you think he wants to kill it. That's a good joke. Anyway I will leave what you think he wants up to the air. He has his reasons or going back))
Looking around Mono noticed his control was taken away, in anger the hacker started a simple sub-activity to see who had taken over control. It didn't suit him to just suddenly lose control of a network which he had command over. Then again he didn't really take time to set up or check out any protection on the mainframe.
With a peaked interest Mono noted the knight who swiped the chips from the fallen knights. Right, keep them for future use. More then likely she is going to take those chips back and work around with the memories so they don't remember who killed them. A dirty trick but a spy has to keep its self concealed I am sure.
After a moment Mono started to pant heavily. In the corner of his screen the little yellow warning sign had changed to a read exclamation mark followed by Mono's sudden loss of breath. Looking around Mono started to scramble to find any kind of first aid kit. Anything to help him at this point. It seemed he miscalculated the amount of time his air filter had left.
Wheezing at this point Mono started to panic as his intent and muscles went to work ripping apart the shit for something to replace the Air-filter of his suit.
"A little...help would...be nice."
he wheezed between words.
Don't think I didn't notice that G*n***s update flash. . .
I'll be watching.
*Cloaked figure becomes an apparition and dissapears*
[Ignoring Mezizas and her illusions, Saboteur walks back to his seat. After a while, he saw Mono panting heavily in the ship control room.]
Saboteur: *walks up to Mono* "Hey, cyborg kid, got a malfunction or something? Yo, speaking of cyborg, do you know a cyborg by the name of Christian? I worked with him in the past, a real hero up until he went up into the sky in a blaze of nuclear fall out..." *frowns* "...Ugh, Mono, are you okay?"
Mono: *in monotone* "A little...help would...be nice..." *wheezes* *spasms*
Saboteur: "... oh, your air filter needs changing don't you? Well, luckily for you, Christian left me with one of his own." *takes out a fresh filter* "Here, have it. There, I helped you twice now. Actually, this one shouldn't count, you should thank Christian for that, too bad he isn't around anymore..."
Taking the filter Mono gave a soft sigh as he reached behind his back. After a second the sound of a actuator was heard lifting up the rather dirty filter from it's hiding hole. Inside his suit Mono read the messages saying the air-system had be shut off and the limited amount of air he had left. Of course he knew the switch was going to be quick so he really didn't pay it no mind. Rather paying attention to the damage report of his suit.
That Scale knight knocked out one of my optics, it also seems the long range communication function is offline. It's going to take me some time to repair it when I get home, if we are going back home that is. For my first field operation I would say this was a bust, I wonder what Sabo things...I should ask.
Reaching behind and placing the new filter into the slot Mono looked at Sabo, dead in the eye behind the plate covering Mono's face.
"I have to know, was this considered a good mission or a bad. I would assume bad based on the facts that have happened, or rather the events that have happened. We did manage to collect some enemy chips, at least those who had them, as for everything else I am unsure of. Count this as my popped cherry for filed missions. I believe that statement is correct in this situation."
Once the filter was in, Mono let out a sigh of releave as the air system kicked back on giving him a breath of fresh air. Looking at the dirty filter he placed it in one of the pouchs he had on his person and waited for Sabo's response.
(OOC: Sorry if this doesn't match up with what you had in mind Vinny.)
They sat together, waiting. The moment they arrived, they were ushered into what quickly became apparent as a lounge of sorts. It looked not at all like a military establishment would have been expected to look like, save for a few portraits of high ranking militants.
Sgt. Opal, who had come with the dispatched rescue team, had instructed them to relax, regroup, re-gear and await further instructions. She and Fiora had left immediately afterword, through the only exit.
That was a few hour ago.
Saboteur: *answers Mono* "Oh well, cyber kid..." *looks around* "You did good on this mission, what is happening so far makes no sense to anyone, people from my own order turn against us, and we are up against fire breathing dragons. We will just have to wait until the ship landed..."
[After landing, Saboteur had alot of questions, but none of them were answered as sgt. Opal went off with Fiora only after a brief instruction, she didn't even realize that Saboteur has already resupplied and had a good snooze on the ship. Sitting onto a chair, Saboteur placed shocking salt bomb and a graviton bomb onto a workbench before combining the two into an 'Apocalypse'.]
Saboteur: *dismantling the two bombs* "Alright guys, I have a little suprise for you all... " *shows the Apocalyse* "TADA! My costume made apocalypse bombe!"
OOC : I can give the general gist two you midnight and hexslash if you want to. It's really just a bunch of PM messages, but I'm pretty sure you guys are bright enough to figure how to lay out a path that follows our proposed plot lines.
^But how do you guys want to receive it? email? IG Mail?
Sitting in the corner with a new Blade, a Archeron with a UV (Light weight: better known as attack speed increase Mid). Hands resting on his legs the man quietly sat watching the others. In his head he ran over everything that had happened. For lack of a better moment one would had assumed he had either fallen asleep.
This mission was a bust for me, its feels like I let down my team more then I helped them. And I know for a fact I should have died, the actions I took should have landed me in the grave, not here...I need to go about my actions better then I have been other wise I might just end up dead.
Using his eyes Mono silently went to work fixing his suit as well as making sure he had a backup filter for his suits air intake, best to make sure he didn't have any problems of that nature. The only sign he was active came from the blinking dot of his face plate.
Meteko sat against one of the walls, a sharpening stone in his hand and his swords lying in front of him. He was sharpening the katana as he waited, thinking about the "fun times" he recently experienced.
He had killed someone, gotten chewed out over corpse disposal processes, and was knocked out not once, but twice. All in the span of under a day. *Gee, I wonder what the others would think of me now.*
He was almost done sharpening when Sabo showed the group his new creation. "What. The hell. Is that?"
A nondescript knight entered through the closed doors, eyes downcast upon a small clipboard.
"I-I need to know exactly what occurred after you were abducted. Fi-Fio- pardons - our sources aren't clear as to what transpired during your apparent imprisonment, and the resulting escape."
The knight paused and even quieter than he had previously been speaking, added, "It would be of especial importance to disclose any-" He coughed nervously, fidgeting with the pen in his hand. "-propaganda or motives they may have spoken of."
There was another pause as the knight took some time to seemingly calm down.
Looking up Mono quickly came to the assumption this person was either hiding something, nervous, or just flat out scared. Standing up Mono walked from his corner and right in front of the man standing at attention, his blade danging from its sheath on his side.
"Intel Officer, Mono. From the best description, as from my point of view; we landed in the drop zone and right from the start I went to work with the cover of the Demo-man Sabor to scan the area. Before a complete map of the area was made for the Three-D mapping system we were attacked by men and women of whom where already waiting for us. It seemed as if they themselves knew of our team set up and weapons. After the conflict ended we where able to recover a little more information."
Mono slowly reached for his pouch which he tucked away the chips, but remembered that the woman from the landing craft snatched them from him before leaving.
"We did manage to recover some of the Revival chips but they where taken from me during our flight back. As for what happened after the landing we where knocked out and taken to a rather dark cage. After some failed attempts to escape, on no ones fault for the escape, the enemy came in to take us away, using a device which back fired I was dragged away. After that we were thrown into another cell with a rather interesting creature, dragon. From their a knight came and took us to the drop ship. The conversation was cut short by our men coming in and saving us. After that we ended up here. Nothing large on conversation from my end. The other's did have things to say. I only pitched in when I though it was needed."
With a salute Mono took a step back and stood at attention with his hands clasped behind his back.
Well that was my side of the story, best to be honest in this case. I might have come off as rude going first, good job, now they might thing I like to be first...I hate socializing...
Meteko turned to the Knight that walked in. Before he could say anything, Mono spoke, explaining what happened. "I was gonna ask if you could tell him, but it seems you beat me to the punch."
Meteko shook his hand, a little sore from the sharpening. "That guy that held a gun to his face" he gestured to Mono "said something about hatred towards making Cradle our home before getting shot down by Mr. Shadow Gun. Still a cool-looking gun, by the way."
"Thanks for reminding me...Is the air here clean or is it exposed to the elements. I need to clean my nose, he did cause me a nose bleed..."
Mono sighed as he remained at attention, unmoving as if he said nothing at all.
Saboteur: *points at the nervous knight* "Hey you... where the hell are we? We are sick and tired of been kept in the dark, tell us what the hell is going on... and speaking of what is going on, where is Commander Fiora? She has being acting fishy through out this whole mission, lefting us behind without even giving something as an explanation..."
The knight flinched from the sudden outburst of attention, lifting his clipboard up in some pathetic defensive posture.
"I-I-I'm sorry! I'm not - I don't know anything." He was practically shaking at this point, trembling as he wrote down what Mono had said. It took a painstakingly long time for him to finish writing, all the while glancing up fearfully at the knights that had surrounded him.
He pressed two fingers against an ear piece for a moment, and scrunched up his face in further worry.
"I need to know ex-exactly what the terrorists told you, p-please. It is vital that any possible information be disclosed to the Order." The knight gulped. What was the deal with him?
(OOC: If anyone's wondering (which I doubt), Violet is sleeping >_<)
"Come on now, Sabo." Meteko put a hand on Saboteur's shoulder. "Lay off him, will ya? And can you please not use 'we'? I'd like to have this time off to make sure my weapons don't go dull."
He then turned to the Knight. "As for what he said, I remember something about them doing this to go against the Spiral Order. How we were a beacon of justice back on what was left of Isora before we crashed here. And then he went into the hatred and getting shot, like I said before." Meteko paused and scratched his head. "Now that I think about it, he wasn't able to say much in the first place."
"Give the man a break, he is currently over worked based on how he is acting."
Mono said, looking at Sabo and Meteko he simply just watched. His unwavering gaze watching over them, almost as if standing in spot of authority. If one didn't know any better they might of assumed Mono was part of the main military not just some Intel Officer.
Why are they pestering the man, he is clearly just trying to get some information just like they are. In this situation I would assume they are the ones interrogating the poor guy. Mah whatever, if they get him to talk, which I doubt, then more for us. Outside of that I suppose we just sit here and wait for orders. Well instead of sitting around I might want to start taking a base reading of every one's vitals just in-case something does happen.
With that said Mono quickly turned on his computer's sensors and went to work trying to collect data from everyone who's suits had electronically parts, of course he was assuming everyone did since he was able to get data from them before, even if the data was stagnate.
"O-oh okay, thank y-you," the knight stuttered. His pen clicked and he turned on his heel. Once again he was visibly shaking, this time as he reached for the door handle. However, he seemed to slow down and hesitate before his hand could make contact.
"Son, if their is anything you would like to say, I would suggest saying it."
Mono said, in as calm a voice he could muster considering the weight of mans actions as well as the fact he seemed rather eiger to just leave with the facts. Not so much as even trying to state what was going on.
Ya, he is hiding something. given enough time he would just slip out, but with this many people he might crack under the presure of the people looking at him and spill it.
"N-Nothing. Thank you for your time." The Knight sighed and flipped the door open. "Not like it would make a difference anyway." The door closed and locked itself with a click.
Almost immediately after, the door burst open and a Knight in full Azure Armour stepped in.
"Knights! We have another mission for you to undertake. You have been given enough time to regroup and get prepared comfortable." The man scanned the room and its occupants with a steely look.
"After deliberation over the data we have gathered from your prior mission, it is in the Order's interest to send you to confront these pestilent terrorists. You will rendezvous at the Hangar, tomorrow at 0630 hours. From there you will be flown out to the coordinates of the terrorists' base. Further instruction will be disclosed in your briefing during flight time."
After a slight moment of pause, the Knight lifted his visor. His stern eyes softened and he gave a gentle smile.
"Ahem, I know you guys have been really confused about what's going on lately, but trust me, everything will be alright. I'm not supposed to do this, but if you have any questions, I can try and answer them now, before you have to head on out. By the way, the name's Aaron."
"Noted: Aaron, the only real question plaguing this room is what is truly going on. From best analising on field and the last man to leave this room it's best to conclude that the Order is indeed hiding something from us. Also from your tone you sound like your talking to a group of dead men who have just stepped out onto their own graves with out knowing."
Mono broke his stance and gazed up at the man, trying to study him as best his limited interaction with the outside world let him. Sure this was indeed the current commanding officer in the room but at the same time Mono couldn't help but feel a since of betrail coming from the man as well.
"Also, we would do good with heavier ordinance instead of what we have now, requesting the use of high grade Military. On much the same note our Demolition-est will need access to high grade Military explosive's in contrast to the sub-tier chemical's he was forced to use on the last mission. With that stated I only have one question to ask, what is the truth?"
Mono asked, sure it wasn't smart to ask a high ranking officer for something like this but at the same time he felt that an explanation was indeed do right now considering their last OC was taken from the room. The word of an Intel officer might not have meant much, but at least Mono knew he could get the ball rolling in the right direction for him to start a private investigation should the need for such and event arise.
Saboteur: "Pretty much what the hack kid said, but I hope you are going to give me something I can work with here. I've already gotten everything I needed when I was on the drop ship. But since we are going into a base assualt mission, I hope you guys have prepared me some high powered explosive to deal with any turrets and armoured doors they may have to stop our advance. And last but not least... why are these people terrorists? And have we identified their alligence? Ozlo made many enemies in his life, we have plenty of suspects..."
Aaron listened calmly to the inquiries of the squad, before addressing them.
"Hiding? You're mistaken. This is how the Order is run. Why plaque yourself with concerns that need not deal with you? You are given all you need to know, for the purpose of completing what is needed to be done, simple as that." Aaron paced around for a moment, his eyes focused on a GUI shimmering in front of him.
"Unfortunately, you will not be authorized new armaments or munitions outside of the ones you can secure for yourself at this moment. This mission is also not an assault, but rather a reconnaissance." Aaron flipped the GUI off and centred his attention back on the knights. "The Order would never allow such an operation to proceed with little idea of the possible weaponry or defences the terrorists possess. As I said prior, you will receive further briefing during flight time, but there are a few more things I am authorized to say."
Aaron pulled up a chair and sat down, somewhat stiffly.
"I would have believe that knights such as yourselves would not question why we refer to the Spiral Council as terrorists. Is it not clear their intentions are all that of some malign force? They are here to terrorize the Order. We cannot stand for their intolerable aims. The kinds of propaganda they spread are annoyingly detrimental to the Order's ulterior goals." He paused, lost in a fervor of anger. His eyes were narrowed at the floor which he gazed upon. There was an awkward silence. A beep sounded from Aaron's helm and he shook his head.
"I apologize for that. I said some things that were..." Aaron struggled for the words, "not appropriate. As to their allegiance, we are not certain, but they seem to be allied with themselves only." Another beep sounded from Aaron's helm and he stood up.
Saboteur: *turns to Aaron* "I hope we find out soon the reason behind their activities, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. They shouldn't terrorize us for no reason other than watching the world burn. If they are the kind of people that likes to watch the world burn, that only makes them more dangerous and unpredictable..." *hears the beep on Aaron's helmt and frowns* "Sir, are you alright?"
[Saboteur, knowing something is wrong, takes out a stun grenade and kept it on his back, ready to pull the pin. The beep almost sounded like a bomb, ticking off the moment Aaron said something he shouldn't have said. The only question now remains is, which one will go off first, the 'beep' on Aaron's helmet or Sabteur's stun grenade.]
Is that idiot trying to get us all court marshaled!
With out thinking, and as fluid an action as he could make it, Mono quickly walked up behind Sabo trying to make it look like a friendly tap on the shoulder while at the same time trying to be swift enough to pull the stun grenade from the wild man's hands. Clearly this was not the time or the place to be using weapons, even low grade, in such close range.
"Assuming; it's a stealth mission we have a little chance of completing stealthily, that is what I am picking up. On the same idea is the following condition, if we are going to be using stealth tactic's I require a change of gear from the Intelligence core. As well as each member of the team be out fitted with a light weight Recon Modual encase we do need to get out, and get in, quickly. The items I request from the Intelligence division are as follows: Four Transmitter's, One Complete Recon Modual and Access control panel, and five Chips for our helms. It should be easy enough for us to get our hands on."
Aaron brought a hand up to his visor, slowly. Then he began tapping around his temple, as if searching for something. He blinked as his hand stopped moving. There was a click.
"Ah, stupid pager. Don't even get why they installed one, pretty low tech if you ask me. I have to be going now, but trust that the Order has got things under control." Aaron cleared his throat, and once again assumed his formal stance.
"Knights, I remind you that you will rendezvous at the Hanger, tomorrow, 0630 hours. Take this time to consider what has been told to you." The man turned on his heel and swiftly departed.
As the door closed this time, there was no sound, for the lock had not engaged.
(OOC: 'Kay guys. I know only Dark and Midnight are left posting, but I promise I'm going to try my best to make the next part interesting and engaging. This part was more of those world building things, and to give time for players to communicate, maybe do some character building and 'stuff'. Clearly that lost everyone's interest, so hang on for things to come. I'll try and get the ball rolling tomorrow night, hopefully earlier, so you have until then to finish up whatever it is you have left to say to each other for now. Trust me when I say that I'm not deliberately ignoring your requests or subtle suggestions or anything.)
[Saboteur sigh in relief. As much as he did not like the fact that his grenade was taken away by Mono, everything turned out to be fine, but who could blame Saboteur for been so overly cautious? He has been dealing with beeping C4s his whole life, some old habits just never die.]
Saboteur: *sets his watch* "Okay, that should wake me up tomorrow..." *sees the door is unlocked* "No... this is still a trap, I don't trust this palce one bit..." *takes out a nitronome and lays on his bed* "See you guys tomorrow... I need to get my self some sleep...ZZZzzzZZZ...ZZZzzzZZZ..."
"Right, sleep easy."
Mono quietly retreated back to his corner of the room taking out a small cord as well as loading energy into his suit's systems controller. Taking a deep breath he quickly removed the battery pack from behind him and replaced it followed by a sigh of releaf as the suit powered back up.
Self destructive Demo-men. Another check on the list of things I didn't want to see but have. On the same note I will just do a little digging, one of my worm's should do the trick.
Taking the cord Mono plugged it into the back of his helm as a small window popped up. With well practiced hands Mono sent off his data virus, trying to hack into the information of the order. He did it once before, he should have no problem doing it again, specially now that he is a field officer and has higher clearance then he once did.
Of course should things come up he needed higher levels of security clearance he could just use his back door codes. Working in those offices is finally paying off I suppose...
Leaning his Silent Night Blade across his lap Mono quietly waited their, awake in case some one wanted to ask him anything. The three red dots of his Helm blinking in response to the data moving across his HUD.
A knock came from the door, loud and heavy.
"Yo, you guys still in there? I saw big Aaron head march past so I'm assuming you're all free. Mind if I come in? Ah, snipe it, I'm coming in anyways." The door swung open, and a lithe female wearing a black jumpsuit walked in. Her copper brown hair hung down, barely past her shoulders. A sandwich was held lightly in her hand which rested next to a belt clipped onto her waist.
"Hello knights, I'm surprised you're still here, didn't big Aaron head say you could leave?" She paused to take a bite, casually leaning beside the doorframe. "I decided to meet you guys before the mission, I'm Amelia. Gonna be your pilot for tomorrow's mission."
Amelia stuffed the rest of the sandwich in her mouth, and reached over to grab a notepad from her belt.
"I heard you guys don't get anything at all for your last mission, and nothing to prep you for this one," she said, voice lowering. "I've got personal connections, and if you want, I can try and hook you guys up with some things." She gave them a subtle wink as she pulled a pencil out and rested it on the notepad.
(EDIT OOC: Nooooo ninja'd! Sorry!)
A stream of code and data directories scrolled by as Mono's virus slipped between the cracks of Spiral Order's digital infrastructure. It was simple at first, granting access to unencrypted data, full of freely distributed information and the like. The virus seemed to trudge through a slough of unimportant drivel, things easily accessible to any one if requested.
However, the virus soon glanced upon the first encrypted barriers and locked access points. With much ease, Mono's credentials cleared the way, and the virus grappled onto soldier manuals, training books and general topographic maps of the local areas and Clockworks.
Once more, files and storage locations were upturned onto Mono's GUI, picking through the many things that compromised the databanks of the Order.
By now, Amelia had strolled in, not especially caring about the few sleeping knights that resided on the lounge's couches.
It was then that the virus encountered the second wall, this time it was far more secure. It boasted highly sensitive firewalls and multi-hashed functions, among other digital safety features. Given some more time, the virus could potentially bypass the blockade and begin extracting data.
Meteko had went back to his spot against the wall, this time sharpening his larger Barrage. His gloves were different, notably darker and thicker in appearance. They were like that for a reason, as the cursed blade could kill someone were they to come into direct contact. Noticing Amelia walk in, Meteko made sure to listen to what she said while finishing up with his repairs.
[While inside his slumber, Saboteur was not alone, Mezizas still tormented his soul from the inside of the his brain. The squalid queen will not let the demo man go so easily, four months have passed since Saboteur defeated her in Vern's castle (referring to Winter Kingdom (RP)) and her influence over Saboteur's actions are as strong as ever. This time in his dream, he was chased down a barren waste land by one of her berzerker pet. Hiding behind a pillar, Saboteur caught his breath while the berzerker sniffed around, trying to get a hold of his location.]
Saboteur: *pants* "Not this nightmare again..." *pants* "I guess... the only way out of this is to kill myself..." *pants*
Mezizas: *materializes on the top of the pillar* "...Or... you can be my precious little pet... I will be nice... I promise, as long as you give me your subordination."
Saboteur: "Never in a million years Evangelyn... " *pulls a stun grenade*
[Saboteur stuns Mezizas's pet before taking out an entire belt worth of nitronomes, aiming for an opening in the beast's mouth, Saboteur plunged the bombs into the berzerker's stomach. A voilent explosion reptured the monster like a baloon stabbed by a needle, but much to Saboteur's dismay, Mezizas simply summoned ten more berzerkers to replace the one lost.]
Damn you Evangelyn!!! When this is over! I will destroy you!
Go ahead big guy, blow yourself up! The world will never knew you even existed!
Saboteur: *wakes up* "Ugh... stupid Evagnelyn... even in my dream she is a pain in my butt..." *sees Amelia* "Hey, Ninja girl... did you say that you have some connects? Good, get me a can of bitumen and some socks, those thick cotton socks, I am gonna make my team some sticky bombs..."
"Evangelyn?" Meteko finally looked up from his sharpening when he heard Sabo.
Saboteur: *turns to Meteko* "Evangelyn is an Ex-girlfriend of mine... she has been haunting my dream, nothing you can do about it... but soon I shall wipe her from my memory and move on. There are plenty of fish in the ocean, I guess I will just shop around..."
Amelia laughed lightly, bemused.
"Well, aren't you an interesting ladies man. I like you, uhh, what's your name?" she asked, eyes down on her notepad where she was writing down what Saboteur had requested. She smirked and raised an eyebrow after finishing.
"Anything for you?" she said, tilting her pencil at Meteko.
Saboteur: "The name is Sillensky, Pythonne Sillensky, demolitionist first class... or you can call me by my nickname, 'Saboteur' ..."
Ugh... Pythonne Sillensky is still such a crappy name... you should have just called your self Mann Warfield or something manlier...
(just a refresher , nonody right now can see Saboteur's face or any part of his skin for that matter.)
"No thanks, I'm good." Meteko replaced the leather-and-bandage sheath over the Barrage and slung the strap back over his shoulder. "When do we leave?"
"Whenever you want, just be sure to be at the hangar by '0630', tomorrow,"Amelia replied while glancing around at the other members.
Not really paying attention Mono kept working.
Hmm, stronger firewall...Looks like it's double encripted, one wrong move here might set off the alarm that some one is snooping around the data banks in the Intel offices...Best start looking for a connection port that my Virus can get into.
Moving through the ever shifting waves of information Mono pulled up what looked like a black CMD which quickly started to fill up with IPs, ports, and Forwarded ports. As if in a trance Mono started to talk in random lines of data and code as he read them for his suit to start 'spamming' request to flood the network and force open a main port as well as a backup port which he could enter the firewall from.
"129.0.2.9, 128.203.98.0, 247.99.34.127, ... 1001-1110, 1100-1101, ..."
This mindless coding kept going for a moment before Mono realized a whole conversation was going on in front of him. Moving the CMD to the side to let his network 'Bomb' take effect Mono looked at the Pilot.
"Yes, before take off can we stop by the Intelligence department. I am in need of a few of my old effects from the offices. That or we go by my place so I my take them their."
Nothing major, just a few jammers as well as a few data bugs I can plant in the system...also might want to pick up a few computer cubes to set up as relays so I have a network to work with in the event the Gremlin designs we have on log need to be looked at. Those furry creature might be handy, but everything they build tends to be more manually operated instead of computer controlled.
(Damnit. every time I get on you people have already posted and gone to bed. Also Hax, thanks for giving me a visual aid to work off of for Mono's hacking.)
"Oh, I'm sure we'd be able to do anything aside from standing down in our current situation." Meteko sighed. "What with us being tied up to chairs and that one over there" he gestured to Mr. Shadow by the cockpit "ready to mow down anything that moves with his cool-looking gun."
"I could use some water, all these transporting is making me thirsty!"
Meteko then looked at Sabo. "You just woke up, how are you thirsty already?"
