I remember reading somewhere that making a Vortex bomb/sword would be a bad idea. Due to my naturally defiant nature I began thinking about how to actually make this viable.
My idea is to make a sword that branches off from the Calibur line. Much like the Cold Iron Vanquisher this sword would break off at the 4 star recipe.
The Damage is in-between the Leviathan blade and the CIV and deals moderate stun on the charge.
The regular combo is the same as all Calibur swords.
The charge attack is where the real power lies. It has a three hit spin like the rest.
Charge attacks have a very short time of effect but they can still be broken into parts. Example: Troika has windup, swing, impact, and finally shockwave.
The first hit of the sword would deal less damage than the first charge attack hit of a CIV, it would also create a vortex that draws enemies to you.
The second hit deals more damage than the Leviathan blade's second hit of the charge, this would have a high flinch chance and would nearly guarantee a flinch on all but the heftiest enemies.
The last hit of the charge would deal the same damage as the second hit, it would also create a yellow explosion that would deal the moderate stun and knockback comparable to the Leviathan blade.
Basically the charge would pull enemies towards you, deal flinch and damage, and then fling them away stunned all in a short amount of time.
In order to make this more useful I would make this a Pure Shadow damage weapon. (Like the blade Arkus held but with a more jagged edge)
I am open for tweaks and name suggestions.
(I would like to call it Black Maelstrom)
Description: A strange blade seemingly forged from matter pulled from the event horizon itself.
I like the concept of it, and think that we could use more interesting swords that do more than just swing for single target damage.
I'm imagining it to be normal damage with a bit less damage than cold iron vanquisher has..... I think it would be way cooler if it sucked them in on the normal hits too. Like, it would have really big range for the suction, and would jerk them inwards every "hit", but would have a smaller range on the actual hits. It'd be a support sword, and would thus not have to compete with say... the brandishes.
