Keeping up with my current train of thought why not create a gun "vortex gun"?

Drawing from the Magnus lines this would be an Elemental/fire damage 5star gun.

The regular bullets would be fast and have a chance to deal moderate Fire to their target.

The charge attack would be very different from the current Magnus line charge attacks.
Instead of a fast hard hitting bullet with high flinch chance, this gun would fire a slow fiery orb, enemies nearby would be pulled towards the bullet and while it traveled it would deal numerous hits each with a chance to inflict Strong Fire (invinciticks included to balance the gun). When the bullet dissipates it would fling the enemies away but not as much as a 5star vortex.

The charge bullet would have the appearance of a combination of Pulsar charge and a Fire Whirl.

This gun could be used to collect and send enemies to a waiting bomber or brandish charge, it could be used to pull monsters away from the team or to just reposition them entirely.

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

I still think that invincitrinks are a bad way to balance something. less damage, less chance for proc, and you still have your knockback.
the overall idea is ok, maybe the vortex effect could activate after a while, like pulsar line normal bullets, so that enemies don't get sucked towards you.

Hmm...

Sounds a bit like a brandish charge in terms of utility... You charge your weapon, position yourself, then unleash the charge, dealing damage and shoving the enemy away.

Why not have it work a bit like a boomerang? We have that code more or less in the game now.
The standard shots could work like a magnus, and the charge shots would snatch up an enemy and bring them back to you. The charge shot could have a second "attack" to it, where you use another large bullet and knock back enemies/deal status, during which you are vulnerable but able to shield cancel out of. The same mechanic could be plopped onto another battle sprite if implemented.

This is a magnus gun after

This is a magnus gun after all so there has to be some drawback to it. Basically anything caught in the charge would take damage equivalent to a Callahan charge, but since it hits multiple times the invinciticks are to cap that damage so it is even with the Callahan's.

Having the charge bullet move the same speed as a Pulsar charge would mean that it would be safe (ish) to fire it close range (honestly not ever gun has to be Blaster easy to use). Still I see your point so why not have the charge's pull increase the further it flies?

I don't think that a boomerang effect would be fair to the enemies, having it drop them off at a distance is the entire reason I choose the Guardian guns (from Izola) and not the pulsar or some other gun. This gun is made more for utility and party protection than damage.

Invincitinks are stupid. Just make the charge do no damage until the final explosion, like the bomb.
What's the range on the vortex? comparable to 3* bomb? 5*?

I believe the pull distance should be smaller or equal to the 3* bomb, after all the gun has that distance from the enemy that the bomb doesn't have.

But the charge is a hybrid

The charge you describe acts a bit like a pulsar/brandish charge hybrid, just with much less damage. Pulsar as it moves slowly and pushes back, whereas brandish does the whole "Push enemies away" thing too well already.

A boomerang gun would not only bring a new mechanic in, it would still play a similar role. I only see the charge shot dragging enemies in, similar to a vortex.
Besides, when the magnus lines get hit by the gunner update, their charge shots are essentially going to be brandish charges(I.E., knockback that doesn't stop on one enemy). We have weapons that shove enemies away already, but only one line really bring them closer to us, and that line is a bomb.

@ Fe-tarkus If what Fangel

@ Fe-tarkus

If what Fangel says is true about Magnus guns after the update then I could definitely see invinciticks removed (after a slight damage scaling). The Vortex would have to be the size of a 3 or 4 star vortex bomb, but with the pull of a 5star bomb (Lumbers/heavy enemies are immune to 3 star vortexes and I think 4 star ones too)

@ Fangel

I think you just have Mixmaster Fever, the last thing any player wants is a horde of aggroed monsters brought back towards them and then flung around them (I.E. Surrounded). Magnus guns are defensive and don't worry I have other ideas that would fulfill your need for boomerang guns.
