ArmorInfo - Abilities and tooltip notes?

I had a thought:
I think it's more accurate (and lets future editors not quibble over numbers and what "bonus" health actually is), and with the notices, lets people know what changes and what doesn't, and why stat bars and defense bars seem to not say the same thing despite using the same segment dimensions (at a glance).
EDIT: added a note option for the long-annoying "this item's stat is WAY higher than the bar says" for the ancient plate mail, using that page as an example right now. These notes would be item-specific, vs. the "notice tooltip" which applies to all relevant items.
Alternative is to put that in the notes section, as cluttering "info" templates is a bad idea. (Yes I really pushed the cluttering for spriteinfo ;P).
I greatly prefer the notes -out-of-the-template option.

Nono, the tooltip example is in the image, sorry if that's not clear. For demonstration, I've put this into action with the Ancient Plate Mail page. Go there, look at it, mousehover the "notice" icons in the info box, and tell us how that feels.
I can make the actual images for stats/abils link to those pages, sure.
The only reason to have those particular tooltips in those particular spots is to aid new players in understanding how parts of the game work. I figure shoving this info down throats on every page might reduce the number of questions I get asked (and you ;P) about what HP "ability" actually is (almost every armor has this "ability"). If we want to direct players to a page that has information on health (the actual health page, harhar) then that would work too. We don't need these tooltips at all, I just think they're cute.
Yes I love tooltips, but I don't overuse them like I do show/hide tabs :P
It just seems like I do, cause that's what I've been messing around with lately, A LOT ;P. The other project gave me a bit of an idea, as did the discussion page for the Ancient Plate.
focus of this suggestion is getting ability pictures into the templates instead of text, but there could be confusion regarding heat level (images of abils are at level 1) vs. health (which is higher for most armor/helms at heat level 10). Thus tooltip thought.
The system as it is now totally works, this is just an idea - helps people know what to look for in-game and on-wiki if stuff looks the same, that's all.
Another format option:
separate health and actual SPECIAL ability images. As I have it now, health is just lobbed into the same picture.
This way, we can have images for HP link to health, and images for special abilities/penalites (like + handgun damage) link to Abilities. Also fueling these thoughts is Flowcharts (and my) desire to update stat images to the crisp, clean UI format.
I'll drum up another screenshot shortly.

Ah, so we're talking about the little icons in the armor info box? Yes, they are pretty snazzy.
I think that the text could be improved, but we can work on that later. For example, "normal" should not be in quotation marks.

heeeeeeeeeeee
Obviously I'm inspired right now, because I discovered things I can do in code I never thought I could before, so it's just spilling out all over the place.
Problem with this is the huge number of new images that would need cropping and floating, and while yes, I can do those, I don't want to, but I also don't like asking for help all that much, cause ppl are like "that's YOUR project, don't ask us for help!"
But help with ability/health images, if we implement, would be...great yes.
Working on uploading an image for the alternate format, just had some things to do on the sprite page.

Look at the Ancient Plate Mail and Shadowsun Slicker pages, and then those two with Azure Guardian Armor.
I don't think we need images for the health pips, just abilities? Images would just add to consistency, but would also give us more work. Obviously, the items which grant higher than normal health pips would have that in their abilities image.

I had actually though about doing this and I'm impressed of something like this being implemented but I have a couple of suggestions and/or changes if you care to listen to them:
*From my understanding from working with various other wikis, having a highlighted text isn't a generally good idea. Most people would just assume it's something you click rather than actually highlighting over it.
This is the same reason why I never actually modified the Mission page to reflect the UI because not being forced to highlight over it is problematic. But that's just my personal opinion on that, hence being a suggestion.
*Linking to two separate pages seems very strange and weird. I'm noting completely on the Health Pips part. You could probably fuse or even add the reduction onto the Health page.
*Special Properties sounds strange to me. Why not just call it Abilities rather than Special Properties? This keeps it the same name as the page itself and there's currently no "Special Properties" that reflect a must more in-depth system than what is shown. It's just bonuses.
Other than that, looks great.

This project seems like a LOOOOTTT of work for a benefit that is really... pretty minor.
Yes, it allows you to click images to linkback to other pages in the wiki but if someone needs explanations about something like health I'm pretty sure they just search "health."
Another concern is the ol' hit-by-a-bus problem. If you stop playing SK and stop editing the wiki... will future editors want to do all these manual steps for every piece of new equipment?
If you're really concerned about linking to information sources I'd consider a small-font caption at the bottom of the blue box "Click here to learn more more about Health, Damage, and Special Abilities."
Could be just me, but I'm pretty "meh" on it. /shrug

@Glacies: good ideas, but I'm not sure what you mean by highlighted text (the tooltip?). I had the special properties there cause ppl don't seem to like that an "ability" can be a penalty, but I guess we'll just have to make them deal with it and stay consistent. I had the two links there in the HP section cause I wasn't sure which to link to for more benefit - fusing the info from the clockworks page into the health page is a "oh, total duh" moment, yes we should do that.
@chesh: there's not too many steps, basically this just replaces typing in non-health abilities with uploading an image, which is easier for some and harder for others. I try to make things intuitive for future editors - like fixing my junk codes around the place with plug-n-chug things (furniture is next). If anything is confusing, please ask me to do a template documentation or something (for a long time I didn't know that was a thing >,..,> cause a lot of templates I learned from didn't have it).

Okay, templates are implemented for armor, helm, and shield items. Everything should be really consistent now - please check me for errors, especially regarding highly variable things like accessory slots. Importance is on the game mechanics though:
tried really hard to not make mistakes, but they happen, and these are core pages, so, would love more eyes to look it over for derps.
I'm not sure that I understand. You want tooltip notes to explain some basics of the rules?
That seems reasonable, but it leads me to the question: Where does it end? I mean, there could be a tooltip on just about anything, explaining how it fits into the rules.
Also, if we want to let people learn more about statuses or status resistances or whatever, why not just make a link to the relevant wiki page?
