Humbug Hat Drop Rate

Hello hello!
I've figured the Humbug hat drop rate is quite low.
And I've been grinding at the 'Save Winterfest!' mission on Tier 3 myself for quite some time now.
/TOTALLY/ not trying to get this hat as a gift for someone.. > >
But.. the real question is, would I be better off spending money and buying the hat, or just praying to the RNG Gods and spending hours grinding so I can feel like I did something worthwhile.

Last night I hatched a 5 iv
Last night I hatched a 5 iv shiny slowpoke after two eggs, while in winterfest I spent days and nothing happened. Yeah pretty low.
I did get one as a gift though.

Well
Spending money would seem great, as they don't over price the costume piece , though it's rarity is seldom.
But I'm not telling you not to give up finding it yet. Try some more until you relinquish to the fact that it's not gonna drop for you.

Here is the tale of the humbug hat and me.
Knowing the Humbug hat only has a 1/66 drop rate chance, I looked for the Humbug Hat for days... I repeat DAYS! When my good friend comes by... let's call him Steve... Steve log in for the first time in weeks, if not months, learns about the event and get on with the new guild party group (that I am part of).
He gets the Humbug Hat, I cry, then couple minutes later he logs off....
I ragebought the hat when my GM dropped it in my game, yet again, about half a day later and it's a nice tale to tell now...
I got retribution on the Kataclysm event and Apocrean on my GM though so, got the book on my first 100 tokens, my GM still hasn't drop it and nearing 3k tokens? IDK... RNG can be a pain sometimes...
I would recommend buying it, grinding FSC for it would be faster... (or merchanting for it)

@Mephisto-Philus Yeah I'll probably get back on it, I'm almost done with grinding the missions so I'll probably sell those snow eyes and just get two for my bf and I bahahah.
Also was originally just a reference to the music artist C418, but yeah his music for the game was great.

Killed 293 grinchlin stalkers = 0 hats, just so you people know what you're getting into if you want one of these hats: HELL

275 kills in and still no hat, yep, I can confirm The-Big-Wallet's statement that this truly is hell (either that or my luck just stinks).
Damn those pesky little Grinchlin Stalkers.
Did u get it? ive been trying to for awhile now.. maybe they took it away
