Hello everybody!

As the title says, I'm holding an Art Contest.
There will be 20,000 CE in prizes up for grabs.
You don't need to be that great at arts to win, either.
Anybody can enter and anybody can win.

If you're not looking to enter the competition, just click here to see the entries.

Prizes:

There's going to be three Major Prizes of 5,000 CE each.
These will be awarded to truly outstanding entries.
There's no particular criteria for winning a Major Prize.
Just make the most awesome thing you possibly can.

Then there will also be five Minor Prizes of 1,000 CE each.
Minor Prizes will be split into individual categories, each with their own criteria.

The Funniest: Tickle my funny bone and I might take it as a bribe ;)

Most Dapper: Those gentlemen with discriminating tastes shall not go unrewarded.

Craziest Crossover: Science can't travel between alternate realities. But Spiral Knights sure can.

Unique Snowflake: If a hipster was into it before it was cool, you can't win this prize.

D'awwww: Robots cannot love, but that does not mean they cannot be loved.

I may also give prizes to entries that I feel are worthy, but not eligible to receive a Major or Minor Prize.

As an added bonus, Nick has said they will be hanging up their favorite entries in the Three Rings office, as well as using them in an official competition in the future.

The contest has been extended.

Entries now close on the 17th of July.
At which point winners will be chosen and the prizes distributed.
Exceptions may be made for unfinished entries that I feel are of sufficient quality, however.

Rules:

Every contest has 'em.

No Recycling: For your entry to be eligible, it has to be an entry created specifically for this contest. It's not environmentally friendly, but nobody asked you, hippy.
No Inappropriateness: Pretty self explanatory, general rule being if you wouldn't want your kids to see it, it shouldn't be in this competition. If you don't have any kids, then anything that doesn't violate the ToS.
Relevant Content: This isn't a contest for just any old art, it has to be obvious that the entry in question is Spiral Knights fan art.
There can be only one: You may enter multiple times, but you can only win one prize.

Other than this, there aren't any restrictions.
As long as your art is something you made yourself, it can be in any medium you want.
Pencil and paper, Photoshop, MS Paint, burnt toast that looks like Kozma.
Whatever you feel expresses your inner artism the most.

How to Enter:

To enter, you need to upload your art (or a good quality picture of it) to the Wiki and paste {{Shoeboxartcontest|Username}} into the Summary.
The username you use should be your account name.

Once you've done that, it will appear on this page for all to see.
If the image you wish to upload is too large for the wiki, just shrink it down and post a link to the full-sized version in the Summary.
Or send the full size version to me in an e-mail.

Working on a submission right now. I've got most of the sketch planned out, so hopefully I can start painting/coloring/however I want to go about doing this soon. (Doing digital work since I don't have many art supplies but have a nice tablet to work with and a handful of art programs.)

Feedback is welcome. However, please no suggestions about the armor/weapons that the knights are using, this has already been decided.

More detailed lines to come and then hopefully a nice fully colored version.

Hi hi all

I was working on meme art to make wallpapers for my guild's next competition and put together a wallpaper to help support Shoebox's Art Competition. I wasn't so sure my materials to sculpt a Snarby plushie robot would get to me from Asia in time. I work mostly in sculptures and kinetic sculptures with a side order of origami and bonsai.

Still waiting for my guest judges to get back to me before I start a new competition.

I hope you all enjoy the wallpaper I made. Reminds me of how dastardly the Spiral Knights developers can be with torturing their fans...I mean with new content. At least the memes are MAD enough to take on JK.

Steam got in my computer and condensed.

Just thought I would let you guys know that I won't be too active on the forums for a bit.

My computer got soaked in the rain on the weekend and it has water all in it, so I don't want to start it up until I know it's all dried out.
Don't even know how water got into the house, but I didn't put it there.

Keep posting entries, I will jump on from other places and check whenever I can.

Just a Heads up, I've been working on something for the contest as well, but i have no scanner, so i've been trying to do something digital, and that's not exactly a field i'm familiar in.
And continuing off of that, I've got a lot of family business to deal with as of late, so I've got about 5 days left to do this thing in total.

So yeah, i guess this is just a placeholder then, and I'll still post whatever I've got, even if i finish the picture after the deadline and get nothing for it.

Next time, it would be best if you consulted someone familiar with the wiki, Shoebox.

- When using the {{Shoeboxartcontest|}} the needs to be your account name.
- If you forget to put the {{Shoeboxartcontest|}} in the Summary box when uploading your entry for the first time, you will need to click on the Edit tab when viewing the image page to add it by editing and then saving the page. Reuploading the entry and filling in the summary will NOT add the template to the page.
- There is currently an issue with reuploading images on the wiki. Do NOT upload your entry until you are sure it is finished. There is no guarantee that you will be able to change your entry.

What's there is basically what other people suggested I do.

This thread itself is 11 days old.

I just submitted my picture, it's a digital sketch that I also coloured in. I have the non-coloured in version available for viewing uploaded to my deviantart (also Flehrad) if anyone would like to see how it compares to the coloured. I originally was going to put in the sketch only but thought to try some colour, I'm not very good at drawing though lol... or colouring XD
