I was once going on heart of ice danger mission, when i saw maulos's mace i thought we should be able to use one, once my friends took me to the fsc (firestorm citadel) and when i saw vana's mace i was thinking we should also get to use it, i would love these two new maces, and make them have special effects, like the maulos mace inflict freeze on the second hit of the two swipe compo or when the freeze ray hits an enemy, for the vana mace it should also do two swipes, with the second hit inflicting fire, and the charge attack would do the same thing that happens when vana smashes with his mace, except theres no debris and shadow fire doesnt spawn

Three swings would be better then heavy sword, because i think we have the perfect amount of heavy swords, such as the sealed sword line
I think the first swipe should be identical to a heavy sword, with the second swing making your character do an overhead smash, and the third one be a normal swipe so it would go swipe, smash, swipe

Would be fine if that was the 3 hit combo.
But sense this is a science fiction game, i think mixing a mace and a flail together would make a much better weapon. Something like the first swing doing 2 mace attacks and the 3 attack being a mace move where the mace head detaches from the handle and hits enemies in a troika second swing area or more. This last 3rd swing will be a little slower then the first and second hit.
Also the charge attack will be the mace heads spikes growing and lengthining in spikes and the knight swinging the mace in 180 degree arc left to right, and right to left for 6 swings while moving forward hitting everything in that knight way like the flourish attack. At the end of the combo, the mace head will launch the lengthen spikes like the tier 3 toxigel. These spikes goes as far as the toxigels spikes and will have hard push back to any monster that it hits. The damage type of this weapon should be normal while that last spike launch attack will be piercing damage.
This way the weapon will have more complication and more parts to its abilities.
I think vanas mace should be the same as when vana smashes his mace but without shadow fire and debris does not fall, but the charge for the malous mace would fit with that
I think the charge for vanas mace in addition to what im originally thinking of should be when the mace hits the ground, a series of spikes would rise up from the ground in a radius of 8 tiles around the player, any enemy with in that radius will take damage with a chance of being inflicted with fire, your idea can be for the maulos mace
Blandaxt, you got me thinking, it would be pretty interesting if we had a mace/flail combo in such a way that they act like ghost swings from the cutter line. Like, you swing the mace and the ball follows behind it, hitting a moment later, perhaps even having a longer range on the ball but less damage. With that sort of weapon, it could be a two-swing combo but with 4 hits.
Then a charge attack could be something like a 360 degree spin with minor damage and knockback followed by an overhead smash with the ball crashing into the ground, dealing major damage and potential status. Basically a weaker levi-charge followed by a sudaruska charge.
I said maulos mace can use the mace flail combined, the vana mace will use my idea, where the charge has the spikes go around your player in an 8 tile radius damaging anything repeatedly with no hit limit and a chance of inflicting fire

I like your normal attack mechanic. Reminds me of the flail/mace weapon in the game called dragon nest. There is a skill in that game the is performed by a paladin class that has graphical images that perform similar to how you describe that mechanic. I really like it and could see this weapon dealing ice status on the second swing like the ice status troika.
As for the charge attack, I’m not sure I agree sense it does not feel intricate where it has more than one part. I feel the mace weapon needs more ingenuity where the holder will have to use their brain to actually use the weapon to its full capacity. Like knowing when the charge fits the situation and where the charge should not be used for all situation like the brandish charge. Similar to the flourish charge or cutter charge where you would not use it for all situations. So having the charge dealing 2 types of damages, but at the same time having the player do preset movements where the player does not have full control of their character till the charge animation is over seems like the best move from my point of view. Do you think this kind of weapon is just a plain violent burst of power like the troika's/leviathan's charge or more similar to a technique weapon like the cutter or flourish charge fangel?
The maulos mace suits the idea that you have blandaxt, i will be thinking about what we would do with the vana mace, im probably gonna do the 8 tile radius spikes around your character upon the charge smash hitting thw ground, i don't know about the basic attack yet, but great idea blandaxt! Keep getting the maulos mace ideas up!
Seeing as a leviathan blade charge is situational, and a suda charge has a large windup, I see the charge attack I suggested being useful in situations similar to flourish. The 360 attack will knock back any close enemies long enough for the charge to go through, but then you follow through with a sudaruska-esk charge, maybe without the whole explosion thing. This means it'll leave you vulnerable to any enemies closing in but not in range of the initial spin, and the long execution time will leave you vulnerable to projectiles.
I'm open to really any sort of charge attack. Maybe you swing a large shot and have a single flail-ball spin around you like a barrier, except extending outwards before going poof. Anything really works for the charge attack, the regular combo is more what I think is important about the weapon.

I was thinking the flail part of the weapon would show itself towards the end of the 2nd and 3rd combo. While the mace part of the weapon would stay throught out the whole combo but will show itself as only a mace on the first combo hit. So something like the first hit doing a mace smack down with small knockback and the 2nd and 3rd hit being 2 hit wide flail hit from right to left and left to right. The 2nd and 3rd hit could also have chance for the ice status.

Where the main character had a whip chain weapon, but could be reworded into a mace tip at the end instead of a cross with slower attacks but more damage.

I was think 3 different attacks. First one is like a FF swing but slower then a leviathan blades charge ATTACK but can only hit once then an overhead smash but a lot slower and it would probably do high normal damage.

It's not a bad idea, i would want a heavy sword style mace. But really i feel maces hould have thier own 3 swing combo that differentiate from swords and heavy swords. Anyway, nice idea.
