I have a few loop holes ideas that could be done, but will SEGA come after GH for keeping the sonic items?
So what happens to those Sonic related items?
I would imagine that any sonic related gear that is currently in the game that is owned by the players will be kept. However, I'm assuming they'd stop putting new copies of those in game through the AH and what not.
You will not see any change to the items you own. However, new purchases of the SEGA games that previously granted an SK item will no longer grant that item. Examples include items given when purchasing select Total War games or Sonic CD.
Glad to have an official statement on that. Hopefully any mention of the promotion on SEGA's side will be removed if it existed before.
So anyone know how many crowns these items will go for in AH?
They'll likely continue to increase in price since there's no longer a way to get it outside of the player market.
Are the changes already in place regarding the Sonic items? Or will there be a later update rectifying this?
As far as I'm concerned the items were just available from featured auctions after the initial time where you could buy them in-game (I remember some vendor for the tails tails but that's long ago).
So I guess these items just won't be in featured auctions any more, nothing really changes. It's like 1st gen Rose Regalia Items aren't available anymore, there wasn't any news for that either, they just aren't in featured auctions anymore (and haven't been for a long long time).

The changes are already in place. Purchasing one of those SEGA titles (various Total War games and Sonic CD) will no longer grant you the item in SK.
With that being said, it's still possible that they appear in featured auctions. They're just no longer obtainable with a purchase of those games.
As I see it, promotional items will still stick around. If Smash Bros were to suddenly be owned by Sony I don't think SEGA would make them remove sonic. It's a nice bit of cross promotion and it's not like SEGA is losing money from people buying the Sonic CD for SK content.
