Unbinding Honor blade + Merging Knights (From suggestions thread)

Hey guys! Here's something to discuss about.
I started SK before the time of unlimited elevator rides and Grey Havens. Back then some people had a steam account and a normal SK account because there was something called mist energy. If you had 2 accounts, you could go for 200 mist energy worth of rides.(Insert prostitution joke here) One day everyone got their honor blades based on their rank at the time as an anniversary reward(Anniversary event of 2012 I think). Fast forward 5 years and here's my situation: I have switched from my steam account to my normal SK account to be my main account. However, my normal SK account has a knight with only champion rank while my steam account had a vanguard. I was at a loss of what to do. One account has the 5* honor blade and bad gear(steam) while the other has the 4* honor blade and good gear(normal). It would cost a ton to unbind all the gear in my normal account and shift to the steam account's main character. Merging accounts does not merge knights.(likely because people would farm orbs via missions)
TL;DR the main problem here is that the Lion-heart Honor blade cannot be unbound and I've fallen into the pits of despair as I have 1 good gear knight and 1 bad gear knight with an emotionally valuable yet nontransferable asset
- What do you guys think? Should we be able to unbind our honor blades?(Some people want to sell them for profit right?)
- Should we be able to merge knights?(Maybe merging knights won't transfer mission rewards?)
- Would there be problems when the LHB can be unbound?(Hardly any IMO)
I understand that my case is extremely rare and it is also very selfish of me to suggest this when so many other things may benefit everyone more. I'm also aware that the Levi blade is the same as a honor blade(It's the sentimental value you know).
P.s. I guess my suggestion would be to allow all honor blades and the honor shield to be unbind-able and maybe make Knights mergable too. This is my first time posting on a forum so I hope I did it right haha. I hope Grey Havens responds to this...

mmm. I'm aware of the cosmetic argument. But the main point is why can't it be unbound? I don't see why unbinding it would break the game or anything haha. I also feel that players should have the freedom to do so as some people are completionists and traders/market people/AH guys.
Also I also realized how much the price of CE has risen over the years. If I'm not wrong it was around 4k(or lower) when I started and now we see it Balloon to almost 10K at times. How are new players gonna afford such expensive CE? If GH admins were to make the HB unbind-able it could stimulate the movement of crowns into the CE market and lower prices for everyone in general. I am aware that this lowered price may be extremely insignificant maybe like only 100-200cr less(That's a bit of free market microeconomics there haha!)
However the point still stands that making the HB and HS unbind-able would not impact the game much IMO. It may have minor positive impacts too(more freedom and cheaper CE etc.). I do concede that it could be troublesome on the steam side but I'm no expert so I can't say anything.

Gear level has nothing to do with it. Anyone can make a CIV and Levi anytime they want but the HB/HS is unattainable. *Misty tears*
TL;DR I know it's cosmetic but 5 years has passed since the Anniversary. We should be able to trade them how we like it. There aren't many negative side effects IMO.

I went through a couple of old posts and discovered a similar thread. Apparently someone else has a similar situation. That case makes a good example for the situation of the trader knight who wants to sell/gift to friend the HB or HS.

P.s. Let's not forget about the 2nd issue of merging knights which solves the dual account with 2 decent knights problem.

A limited time promotion with a special cosmetic should, I believe, remain a limited time promotion with a special cosmetic. If everyone who was a vanguard got a unique weapon yeah I'd be upset, but this is a cosmetic to use as a symbol of prestige or long time support. Making a newer character doesn't take away the experience, but only a free weapon/shield set.
Grey Havens has shown to be more than capable of creating new game content. A new version of homecoming would be pretty easy to pull off. Perhaps even just a reskin of the honor items again, but in a different color scheme (perhaps a grey and purple scheme?) entirely.
If these items were item box reskins, I would be totally with you. However, they symbolize a special moment in the game's history, and as such, should remain in that spot until a time comes again which would make any sort of return of them make sense.

I was figuring grey could resemble the change to "Grey Havens", and purple is a fair theme we see for long-standing or important things within the game (GM armor, Vaelyn at the core terminal, etc).
I suppose it's a bonus to the Amethyst Egg folks too.

We should be able to upgrade them though...
When I got my honor blade and guard I was just a knight elite, now I'm almost a vanguard, but I still wan't to be able to upgrade them to their 5* versions, if only to show off my cool limited edition stuff. They're practically useless to me now but they're still a pretty cool reskin that I would rather use instead of the regular versions that I have.
Honor blade is supposed to resemble where you were at a pivotal point in SK's progression. Having the highest level stuff doesn't mean you're any less of a player, it just means you weren't a certain rank on a certain knight at a certain time. Nothing to worry about there.
Some sort of "new homecoming" event would be better off, I believe. However the items we got for free before were purely cosmetic and a thanks for playing.
