I just wanted to get an idea of how much CE people have bought with real money. I've bought the starter pack so far, and am considering getting the 20,000 CE pack so that I'll pretty much be set for life, and pump some CE back into the market. Anyone else bought the 20k pack, or is that personally just too much to pay?
How much CE have you bought?
Well. That depends. If you are content with one set of 5* and 2 weapons, then it may be enough. But let me tell you, if you want to keep playing after endgame, 20k is no where near enough. You'll want costumes, you'll want max uv's- not going to be able to buy enough CE with cash..
I've spent $50.. no more than any other game. I don't think I'll be spending any more though; all the Max UV gear I want is 15-20k a piece, which is just stupid and not worth it.
@aeolianmode
Well, at least set for a long while. Anyway, by the time I get to to point where I am burning through energy that quickly, hopefully I will also be making enough crowns to buy CE off the market regularly rather than paying real money for it. And yes, for the most part, I am rather happy with a small set of armor/weapons. Will I do hope to expand it later on, I don't feel like I need every 5* item in the game. Also, I am not buying max UV gear. Maybe eventually, but right now I don't feel a huge need to get any.
43,422 Crystal Energy.
I have spent $20 US. I doubt I'll spend much more yet, trying to get self-sufficient and buy CE off the market using crowns. But, the game is good enough that if absolutely necessary, I would put more cash into it. If you like it, support it.
I unsubbed from EVE (read: Spreadsheet Online) so that's another $15 in my pocket every month, I may put that into Spiral Knights.
If you have a bit of patience, the best way to spend your money is actually to create a bunch of alt accounts and buy the minimum 3 dollar pack for all of them. By doing this, you'll get the 750 energy per account, plus you can craft something every day with all that unlinked mist energy. You'll earn a fair amount of money from the non-UV items and within a month you should get at least one MAX item that you can sell for a lot of CE.
Buying CE with money doesn't stop you from buying it with crowns, or offsetting crafting costs with your Mist.
I've spent $0. I've got 5* armor, a 5* helmet, and two 5* weapons. Just gotta work smarter, not harder.
20k is a lot actually and I think everyone is forgetting that on average from 100 CE you make well over that much back so 20k. If you play right should prove to earn you back more than you put in. I personally have bought a few packs, probably wont buy anymore for a while.
not a cent and got eight 5* items and going to upgrade 3 more with my current amount of CE,
as said before, if u play smart you keep ur cash and even make more.
The easiest smart thing to do is joing friends/guildies after they reched the terminal
because depths after it earn you more crowns. You can also ask them if they see recipes,
real good guildies will only charge you the 100 crowns of the send-mail.
Bought two batches of $10 when the Rose Regalia promotion was on. So I got 7000CE, plus I sold the set for around 3000CE. Spent it mainly on crafting. Due to smart play and some really good luck I'm now at 14k CE with 5* armor, helm, shield, gun, and two swords. On the verge of another 5* sword and gun.
so for $80 has gone into this game for me. I could use crowns to get energy but I don't feel like waiting for my most energy to fill up. I also feel like I should at least show my support as well because with out money SK can't stay up and running. I am seeing my CE last longer as I get better at this game though.
I bought two bucks (612) with PayMo, on this account, after merging with Steam.
I think this game just ripped me off. At least it was just two bucks and not the starter pack I planned to buy.
5 bucks (not including another 10 I spent for an experiment in ragecrafting)
I bought the 5 dollar package to take advantage of “preview event bonus” and got 2000 CE for the price of 1600. Since then, I’ve defeated Vanaduke a couple of times (although admittedly with some help) and crafted a bunch of 5-star items.
In my inventory right now (5-star):
Volcanic Plate Mail
Volcanic Plate Helm
Omega Shell
Barbarous Thorn Shield
Divine Avenger
Gran Faust
Fearless Rigadoon
Leviathan Blade
Argent Peacemaker
Valiance
Most of which were made pre-steam release, when CE was a lot more than it is now. I’ve also had both weapons slots unlocked for more than a month (not currently using any trinkets).
Oh and, I have more CE now than what I started with.
I spent 20$ during rose regalia promotion
I currently own 4 5* equips
And a total of 150k CE
$20 on starter pack.
How can one have 150k CE when their counter only has 5 numbers?
>How can one have 150k CE when their counter only has 5 numbers?
There is always a zero in front (I'm sure this is a psychological thing to make you want more and more energy). The bar just gets wider to accommodate for extra digits.
Enough
There is this to look at MaxMayheM:

I've bought like, 20-35k CE. Most of it was with crowns. And it is all gone now. I only have 1 CE...
None with hard cash.
I love the idea of packing my bag and go to another action arcade game whenever I want without feeling disappointed. Lunia was a very good education in positioning, cancelling, shifting, sidestep, provoking lure, comboing with precise timing.
Uhhh, let's see. I had 75 k CE at release... and I've bought arund 20 k CE five times after that. Now I have like ... 25 k CE left -big waster-
Holy-Aether
I don't pay USD on games anymore. :c
Zero
I've bought 750 CE. I have 4k now, and a set of Vog. I'm saving up more CE to upgrade the rest of my equipment, weapons and such. As well as buy weapon slots. It's going to take a good while with the CE prices, but I'll manage. I tend to build up my resources, more than I actually use them.
I bought the starter pack mostly to make the game a bit smoother getting out of the low tiers and as a show of support. Progress, keeping slots unlocked, and getting high end UV's is definetely balanced around a little extra push. You can do without, but it can be pretty slow. Feels like a nice pace with that little boost. You're still working for what you get and it takes a decent amount of time, so unless you spend stupid amounts of money you're not going to straight up buy power. Personally I see it as more of a semi subscription fee. So long as they continue to improve the game and I'm having fun I'll drop a few $ here and there to keep things running smoothly for both myself and OOO.
20k is not enough.
sure you will last a while with it, but its not enough.
you wun be set for life =p
not by a long shot.
