I have heard varying opinions on these swords and was wondering which one would be the better buy in the end. I like how the Wild has charge time reduction and attacks fast/looks cool but I heard the Dread has good damage + poison but if I don't need to poison an enemy is it worth it?

Just to clarify, have you played since the Wild Hunting Blade's stats got seriously nerfed, Shoebox? Its power got cut way more than the DVS, I guess to balance out the Ultra Beast thing. I haven't actually used a WHB, so I can't say for sure which is better, but I get the feeling a lot of people posting about it lately haven't actually played in a while. Also, in response to the original post, both will have a charge time reduction: ultra once they're levelled.

Well if you just want a sword
Well if you just want a sword for damage, scrap the Cutter line altogether and go make a Calibur -> Cold Iron Carver.
The 4-star version will do more damage than the 5-star versions of these swords at max heat.
And you still get an Ultra Bonus, but it's against Undead instead of Beasts, something fairly useful if you're planning on doing Firestorm Citadel.
The main use of the Cutter line is the complete stun that the charge attack offers.
The WHB's cone of attack is, from what I could see, larger than the DVS's as well, meaning it's more effective at crowd controlling monsters and gives it higher potential group DPS as well.
Another reason it probably got nerfed by an extra damage bar over the DVS.

Yeah I made a WHB right
Yeah I made a WHB right before the nerf. Now I'm stuck with a 5* sword that's only 2/3 as powerful as before, and I do more DPS using a Winmillion, even despite the Ultra damage to monsters being lost. It's not worth making one now IMO. Honestly this whole rebalance is just making things annoying.

Vile Striker at once. I can't emphasize enough how important poison is now for some areas with many healers.
Vile Striker isn't really worth it.
In Tier 3, the Healers can resurrect each other, making poison ultimately useless.
You're much better off having the Hunting Blade for it's Damage Bonus vs Beasts: Ultra in the long run.
That and the Wild Hunting Blade is just way cooler.
