Programmable Weapon / Armor load-outs - Switch All Your Gear with One Click!

How about programmable weapons/armor sets? I find myself constantly switching gear for strata, but I notice I'm always changing between the same few sets of gear.

Maybe four little icons in the character tab to select a load-out. You could map each load-out by putting on the equipment you want to use and then right-clicking on the load-out icon and selecting "Map Load-out." Left-clicking on the load-out equips the load-out. Switch all your gear with one click instead of hunting down each item and equipping it individually.

I'd suggest four to keep the theme of four that seems to run through parts of the game: four types of vials equipped at a time, four damage types (piercing, shadow, elemental, normal), four gates, four weapons equippable etc.

Thoughts?

I would suggest four weapon

I would suggest four weapon loadouts, and four armour loadouts, with customizable names. That way you've got general, piercing, shadow, and elemental defensive loadouts, and the same offensive loadouts, which you choose depending on the primary family of the next strata is.

I'd like to see at least ten

I'd like to see at least ten loadouts available: one for each stratum theme. Or maybe 14, to allow a separate one for each boss stratum, in addition to the random ones.

Actually, this is the sort of thing that could be stored locally on your computer, so there's no reason why you couldn't have a hundred saved gear combos. Upgrading a piece could break a lot of gear combos at once, though.

That in itself is a good

That in itself is a good argument for limiting your gear combos, I suppose - if you've only got four loadout slots, you've only got four loadouts to fix if you upgrade a shared component. Of course, it may be possible to rig it so that upgrading a component simply replaces the old version in all the loadouts that use it.

It's a good idea that's been brought up before. +1

I often get a considerable

I often get a considerable amount of lag just for hovering over a piece of gear in my arsenal. This would make equipping new things much less of a hassle.

Quizzical, with 4 offensive

Quizzical, with 4 offensive and 4 defensive loadouts, allowing you to make a generalist as well as a specialized loadout based around each type, that would give you a total of 16 easy to activate loadouts, covering all the families that exist, as well as all the possible ones that don't exist (yet).

Cool

This could be VERY interesting. It's like customizing items for the clockworks. Naming items can act as one thing: Making items! This is a GREAT idea! It should use materials for tweaking it's elements and special effects.
