These are all possible ideas for things that could be added/changed in the game, in order to improve gameplay overall. I will try my best to list the pros and cons as I see them, and being a college student learning to become a game programmer, I will suggest ways that it could be done using systems already in the game, if possible. Feel free to comment on the ideas, and lemme know what you think of them.

#1 - Auction House Adjustments
I believe the Auction House could use a few tweaks in order to slightly improve it's service. The main two being instant Auction transaction when you use the "Buy Now" button, and item pricing management.

-> Instant Auction Transaction
I dunno about anyone else, but I find it annoying that using the "Buy Now" button gets you a mail that sends you the item in question instantly. While that's fine for 1-2 items, it's extremely annoying when you need to buy a bunch of individual shards or other minor materials, and end up getting 15-30 mails from it. I think that the "Buy Now" button could work a bit like a shop, in the code sense, where the item is instantly transported to your inventory... this is strictly with the buy now button, and not with the bid-based auctions.

-> Auction House Pricing Management
I feel that Auction House prices have a risk of becoming too high, and therefore, I think there should be a bit of management on the high end, as to avoid people making 'em cost much more then they are worth. I think an item shouldn't be sold (at the buy-now price) for more then 200% it's in-shop value. That means for 0-star items, no more then 300 crowns, for 1-star items, no more then 6000 crowns, etc. Perhaps allow an extra 100% value for UV items, but I think that's enough for any item. I know stuff isn't that bad now, but this is merely a precaution to avoid such things.

#2 - Haven Monster Arena
Since there isn't any PvP, and by rumors there used to be, but was removed, so I doubt it'll come back... I think there should be an PvE Arena. I know that some depths are kinda like that, but this is gonna be a little different. My idea involves an arena, within the Haven city limits, that players could visit for low or 0 energy. For the low energy idea, the monsters could only drop low amounts of Heat, with little to no crowns and no materials, and the Arena could be an alternate way for using your energy to fight, a good way to practice tactics and weapons, in exchange for gaining only low prizes compared to normal depth diving. For the no energy idea, the monsters would have no drops at all, and the Arena's purpose would be for training, practicing tactics and weapons, and entertainment value. And for beating all the waves of an arena, perhaps you can gain Tokens or Treasure Boxes as a price, at least perhaps for the low cost energy idea.

Pros(+)/Cons(-)
> + Increases overall skill of the average player, allowing for better Party experiences
> + Adds low/no cost means of entertainment, especially for those who love to fight
> - Could increase server burden due to increased activity

#3 - New Boss Prizes: Giant Heat Embers and Platinum Crown Coins
I think, overall, the crowns and Heat you gain from the actual Bosses are pathetic... you pay the full 10 energy from fighting it, you should get a level's worth of Heat and Crowns from beating it. The treasure boxes at the end give very little, if any, heat and crowns either, and you get roughly the same from treasure boxes on the way there anyway. As a solution to this... since you get a giant token from beating it anyway... perhaps other giant prices are in order. Giant Heat Embers and giant Platinum Crown Coins. Perhaps the tier of the boss and/or the party size can effect how many you get overall, like 1-2 of each for a tier-1 boss, 3-4 for a tier-2, and like 4-5 for a tier-3 boss. You could add enough Heat in each Giant Heat Ember to fully level up a tier-1 item by 1 level, which should be fair enough higher tier items that are required to get there. And the Platinum Coins could be worth 500-1000 crowns, which is about what you would get on a single depth anyway.

#4 - Item Unbinding Service
Having an Item forever bound once equipped, never being able to remove it ever again? That seems a bit harsh. I think there should be a Item Unbinding service in Haven somewhere, perhaps by one of the strangers or by a NPC Knight. In exchange for a number of crowns and/or energy, based on the tier of the item in question, you can have the item unbound from you... but perhaps as a side effect, the item will lose all of it's Heat, becoming a 0 Heat LV1 item. This could also be useful in the crafting/upgrading of older 2-star items into 3-star items for the player, since such items require LV1 items as a base, as well as making items tradable in order to sell your old items away, to reducing inventory cluster of items that you don't use anymore.

#5 - Improved Guild Halls
Guild Halls are a joke right now... they are merely private areas that have nothing to offer beyond a private meeting place, which are hardly ever used. I think there are ways to improve Guild Halls in order to make them worth the 500 energy you use to pay for 'em.

-> Guild Hall Training Rooms
Every Guild could use a place to train their newer members. So, I think you could make a special side room that connects from the main Guild Hall to a special Training Room. This room could have a large arena-like area, with an outer area filled with various switches that operate features for the area, such as enemy spawners for those Training Robots found in the existing Haven Training Hall, as well as ones for Gun-Puppies or Gun-Puppy-like enemies similar to the Training Robots, and maybe for controlling some traps in the arena, like Spikes. You could even make switches for spawning a preset or random set of monsters of a set family, to test one's ability against a family of monsters. Any monsters would, of course, have no drops at all for this.

-> Guild Funds / Donation Box
Guilds need a way to build up funds (in the form of Crowns and/or Energy) for Guild Events or even just making armor for all the newer members. So I think Guilds should have a special Fund Box that Guild Masters, and maybe Officers if allowed by the Guild Master, could take money from the Funds. Where would the Funds come from? There are 2 ideas I have on how they could be done, and both could be done if needed. I think one way for it to be done is a special Marketplace for Guilds to open shops, which could sell crafted goods for a price, like a fund raiser. Another idea would be to allow a Donation Box in the Guild Hall, in which members could donate funds to their guild.

-> Custom Guild Costumes
Nothing says Teamwork like team colors and matching uniforms! So I think the option of having a special custom costume set for your guild members would make quite cool. Perhaps, maybe for a set price of crowns and energy, the guild master could create a custom set of equipment based on a primary color, a secondary color, one of many preset helms, and one of many preset armors, somewhat similar to the character creation screen. The helms and armors themselves could be based on already made armors, just allowing for the custom colors. Even 10 of each Helms and Armors and the usage of 16 preset colors for the primary and secondary could allow for a very wide variety of customization. The costumes could then be sold in a special store in the Guild Hall, or given by an NPC (who could be wearing the custom costume) upon request in the Guild Hall. The costumes would offer no benefit, and would be 0-star like any already existing costume.

-"to avoid people making 'em

-"to avoid people making 'em cost much more then they are worth"
By definition, it's worth what people list it for. If i list a green shard for 6k, and that's the lowest price, it's worth 6k.
-"Auction House prices have a risk of becoming too high"
That's the trade off of having an auction house. fixing that would be like ginving elemental hood shadow and peircing defense. The trick is to buy to your advantage.
-" there isn't any PvP, and by rumors there used to be, but was removed, so I doubt it'll come back"
It was beta PvP, and it was removed due to weak servers that coudnt suppourt 8 players (check some of the poorer the training rooms), pings over 400 (assumption from a video), and constant instakilling.
-"the Arena"
They have arenas in-game, just find a lift with the sheild logo. You can't get something for nothing, if you get as much crowns from the avg level, then you'll lose as much energy.
-"you pay the full 10 energy from fighting it, you should get a level's worth of Heat and Crowns from beating it"
give or take, that is correct, purely becuase you can't sell the items you get for boss tokens. although some of them are pretty cool. You might get enough crowns per boss level, but the heat needs to be increased.
-"Giant Heat Embers and Platinum Crown Coins"
I like running around picking up the coins, I don't really think that larger forms of currency should be what the developers should put effeot into. This being said, more boss prizes sounds nice. Once again though, boss levels really do need more heat.
-"Item Unbinding Service"
They are already working on that, but I personaly don't like that. People should have to PLAY through teir 3 for teir 3 items. I mean seriously, how fun would the game be if i could just fool around with the market and buy all vog cub and a volc.plate sheild and a cold iron without even getting T2 access?"
-"Guild Halls are a joke right now"-" make them worth the 500 energy you use to pay for 'em"
Yep, that was spot on. They need to be pimped.
-"Every Guild could use a place to train their newer members."
Train? You point and shoot, everything else can be found on the wiki. Plus, most guilds say *3 items and up only or something, so most people are pretty educated. Though as a side note, a sanbox style mode to test damage would be nice. What they REALLY need to do is make a giant poster that says "CROWNS ARE SHARED" so noobies wont say "Your stealling all the crowns! wtf?"
-"Guilds need a way to build up funds"
Jelly runs. Really man, plus now we have the romulus twins (the name is from romulus and remus, look it up, it relates to the boss)
-"Custom Guild Costumes"
That's kinda cool, mabey sheild's too? You'd need a sheild costume slot for that though, but if they gave you a couple different models, and let you pick the colors, that would work nicely. They'd have to be bound though. So we don't have any fake's running around.

Anyway, I can congradulate you for being right in a couple places and on at least identifying most of the areas of spiral knights that need to be tweaked.

"By definition, it's worth what people list it for. If i list a green shard for 6k, and that's the lowest price, it's worth 6k"
This is not always true... yes, I am aware this is a possibility with any auction house, but I've seen a fair amount of overpricing, and think that, since I know the code checks the prices to some extent anyway, I thought it'd be a nice thing to add, to avoid ripoffs. But fine, forget that, I mainly just want the function to send the "Buy Now" items directly to your inventory. I'm sure lots of people would enjoy that.

"It was beta PvP, and it was removed due to weak servers" - "They have arenas in-game, just find a lift with the sheild logo."
I figured as much with the PvP. Thus why my alternate solution of the Arena. No, I don't expect it to become a money making device... quite the opposite. Even with the low-cost option, you'd make little to no crowns (maybe some bronze coins on some stronger enemies, if at all) but I mostly thought it'd be a nice way to pass the time. I'm a big fan of the name, and I'd like to be able to practice fighting on real enemies without spending energy, since I'm a crafter in the game, and need it all for that.

"You might get enough crowns per boss level, but the heat needs to be increased."
I certainly agree on that. If I'm gonna fight the tier-1 boss... I don't wanna see that I got only a shiver of heat. The giant coins and embers were just a thought on possibly adding more crowns and heat to a boss level, to go with the giant token theme.

"Yep, that was spot on. They need to be pimped." - "Train? You point and shoot, everything else can be found on the wiki."
Glad you agree that Guild Halls... well, that suck, to say the least. However, no, the game isn't just point and shoot... there is some tactics to the game, like any Zelda game does. Not exactly the most advanced ones, but they are there, and there are those who are bad at Zelda games... trust me, I've played with these bad players. And in Tier-2, it's needed, the difficulty of the game starts going up from there. It helps to optimize your gameplay. But either way, it'd be fun to have the training hall like I mentioned... even you admitted that.

And thanks for saying I at least see the kind of improvements needed... being a future game programmer, I like to know I got those kinds of observations for giving the people what they want in the game.
