More like my two ideas for the day... apologies if they've been discussed before.

Trojans
I remember the first time a Trojan came into play during one of my adventures. I immediately was shocked and intimidated by its presence and had a sudden sense of fear in my stomach. I was starting to feel my palms sweat and pulse raise.. then the trojan fizzled out and popped. Easily and quickly. I often battle the trojans in the arenas and everytime I do, I wish it was a longer fight; with some "lesser enemies" spawning during the battle. I simply wish such a menacing looking enemy was harder to defeat. He does hit hard and his moves are wonderful, but he simply goes down too quickly.

Rare Level Variations
I'm not sure if the level design or instancing of levels could allow for small variations (or trick us into thinking its a "variation") but it would be wonderful if levels could have an occassional chance of offering something special... hidden... a 1 in 500 or 1 in 10,000 chance at seeing something new in a level. For example, (maybe silly examples but thats not the main idea) suddenly has a hallway to a miniboss (or free challenge room) that normally is not there. Maybe a floor switch, that seldom appears, opens a wall (rather than a gate) that leads to.. mass carnage and a nice reward. Hahaa... or perhaps a very rare 4th room at the end of existing arenas that is available randomly (and extremely rarely) with an enemy so seldom seen that many players believe it to be a tall tale or hoax-rumor. Basically, if it is at all possible to offer rare and random, discoverable challenges within the levels we have memorized (to shake things up and keep players on thier toes)... I think we'd love it.

Agree.

I second both ideas.

I think the Buffed Trojan should rather be a second type of Trojan that has a re-skin but functions the same move-wise. Reason being: in most cases Trojans feel too easy, but some of the ones in Firestorm Citadel (particularly the last rooms) are plenty nasty enough considering the circumstances (two at once, three trillion skeletons, fire and spikes all over the place) =P

Also for the level variations, I like the idea of rare minibosses as outlined on this thread. http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/11241

I wish there was a better way to rally on this so that it could get more attention. I think Vog or a living Vog Cub would be an awesome secret boss.

Also also: I hear a lot of people talk about secret areas in graveyards. I don't hit many graveyards unfortunately (I love them) but I've hit a few since hearing this. I don't know what exactly people are considering "secret areas" but I always clear the whole thing and I've gone all around them looking and haven't found anything that I would consider hidden (secret). I've heard there can be paths behind energy gates but have seen none. Any insight? Is it only in T3 graveyards? I don't know if I've ever hit one of those.

Trojans - I think the Trojans

Trojans - I think the Trojans tough enough as it is, but I'd love to see more such "mini-bosses". Perhaps they could have some tokens or rare drops too.

Rare Level Variations - I think this is a great idea. I really like how OOO made the dungeons so dynamic and randomized, but it would've been great to see even more variation.

Agreed

100%. Awesome ideas, both of them. But if there's one other thing I'd like to add to this thread, it's that it would also be cool if you had some sort of rare monsters, that looks completely different from anything else, appearing in areas where you don't have to defeat them to go on. They'd look harmless enough (maybe even cute!), and be passive unless provocated. You hit it the first time, it dodges and growls at you. You hit it the second time, same thing. You hit it the third time, and ALL HELL BREAKS LOSE! All sorts of different attacks, summoning special minions it can buff, heal and revive, moving at least twice as fast as you, chaining charge attacks and killing you in about three strikes, and being seemingly invulnerable to anything you do to it (still shows that it's taking damage, but just WON'T DIE). Why? Well for once I hate it when people kill mewcats, which are completely passive, but also - and more seriously - it would make the game a whole lot more interesting. You think you've mastered a tier, nothing can happen to you, and then BOOM! - this. Kinda gives you an idea that the Knights aren't maybe the strongest things in Cradle after all, which would just make you wanna play even more. At least I know I would - and I doubt I'm the only one.
But that's a little (LOT) off topic; loved your ideas!Full support here!

Trojans in FSC give me a hard

Trojans in FSC give me a hard time. I died a couple times in FSC, solely to trojans today. They would charge me while I have my shield up, and corner me. Thus causing my death. At the time, I had been duoing, and we both got cornered at the same time by two trojans, and we both died. They can be pretty brutal with pinning you in a bad spot.

Some nice ideas, but...

If trojans get a buff, then Three Rings will have to lower the amount of Trojans in the Firestorm Citadel. Especially in that area loaded with spikes and fire, when 3 trojans spawn with a ton of slag walkers, right before the gate to vanaduke.

As for the mini-bosses and rare level variations, I support that idea all the way. Maybe even some suspicious-looking walls that you can break, revealing a small room with treasure and a few danger-room style monsters. And maybe add a lost/injured knight to some dungeons. After you rescue the knight, Spiral HQ sends everyone in the party a raise of 500 Crowns.

Yeah. Ren is right. When

Yeah. Ren is right.

When those 3 trojans appear, its a mad house if your the only one alive with little health and nobody can rez.\

For the second idea,

YES ALL THE WAY. Jelly is too easy (But great for heat), Snarby is too easy, Twins take forever and not enough profit, Vanaduke, fun, I love it, keep it the way it is. Hate the new update though without the pillars...

I'd like to see the trojan be

I'd like to see the trojan be incorporated in a line of chess themed pieces.
+1 unique level variations.
Also i like the idea of minibosses, or at least minibosses more glorified than they are now.

FSC Definately doesn't count

Eshajori, Malleable, Ren_Partycat, BigfootM... You guys are totally right about FSC Trojans being tough enough the way they are. I apologize for not saying "lone trojans" like in the arenas, or other levels. FSC is a completely different scenario than I was thinking, and if Trojans were to get beefed up I hope the beef doesn't include the ones in FSC!!! But I'd sooo love to have a 2 or 3 minute, risky (even with 4 players), battle with a lone trojan and a bunch of respawning skellies, wolvers, or whatever. Also, just for further clarity, soloing a Trojan is cool.. lots of fun.. but the weakness and slow reaction time, against a player-party leaves something to be desired. Maybe their life or defense isn't scaled up enough vs multiple players? (not including two or more Trojans. Thats a completely different story.)

Yes,

I agree with this, as I am usually the one to find "a very rare 4th room at the end of existing arenas that is available randomly (and extremely rarely) with an enemy so seldom seen that many players believe it to be a tall tale or hoax-rumor.", I have a UV on my Grey Owlite that increases your attack damage on all weapons, yet no-one can see it.

Yes, like that.
