Since these are sold by vendors down below, they clearly have value. Players should be able to redeem them at the end of their playing time. Furthermore, players who leave and simply waste them should be charged the wasted value amount in crowns, and that amount should then be distributed to the remaining members of the party.
Dealing with leftover vials, capsules, tanks, etc.
SO it's like if you have extra vials, you get a prize for having saved them? That'll be cool. like in Megaman BN 6 Where surplus soul weapons are turned into bugfrags.
Maybe the surplus vials could become cr sets? I dunno, but its such a shame to see all that spare gear go to waste.
I believe that charging people for wasting items is unfair. Just think about it. But other than that, what prices should be attributed to the items, and should there be just some items which are allowed to be traded in, or are all items allowed?
I think at the end when you are about to leave the clockworks will ask you to do what:Sell your extra vials or Give it to your party.
So, at an elevator, when you press leave you can press 'sell surplus' and it autosells all of your 4 items. or you can click another button and when your party reaches the next dungeon, the vials are spread around the elevator, right? And to prevent any 'mistakes' the default is always......
I'm not so sure about the money thing. But what I would like to see is a way to not lose someone's cool stash of Vitapod +10, 3 pills, and 3 fire on the way down to a boss, just cause they're too lazy to unload. Or maybe they forgot they were going up. I dunno, either way it's aggravating. The animation even has those items coming down on the elevator. Why not just bring them all the way down? Then they are there for us to pick through, rather than watching them vanish into oblivion.
The extra equipment I don't use ALWAYS goes to waste. Do something with them! Maybe we could sell them back at moorcroft or places like that? Or keep the mecha knights as something that can be no-longer used in dungeons and sell them to Bosco?
Well Aquajag makes a point, if the items aren't convertible to cash, then if someone leaves, then they should drop their items down to the next level to be distributed among remaining players.
Also, selling spare vial and pods, if implemented, should IMO only be possible at Moorcroft, Emberlight and Core to discourage "frequent flyer recipe shoppers" from depriving the party of potential useful items.
I lag badly seein tons of pills in FSC. I couldn't do anything a few times cuz there was like 15 pills...
I'd like this. Here's two examples why:
Once, I was in Ironclaw Munitions Factory with three others. We were doing GREAT. I only used one health pill during the boss fight, and thet left me with eight pickups, plus a vitapod, afterwards. If they sold for how much you but them back on Moorcroft, I'd have gotten around 2-3k. That would be nice.
Another time, I was doing a Jelly King run, and one of my friends was out of energy, and nobody had enough to tab him. When he went up, he had 2 health capsules, and some curse, fire, and poison vials, A.K.A., the most useful things for the JK. Those would've been great to have, but we couldn't get them back.
Anyways, this would be a great addition. You have earned +1 internets.
I have to disagree with the notion. Even though I tend to finish every session with some items still sitting there too. Aside from the obvious problem of adding yet more crowns into the system I also feel it would work to encourage people to purposely not use the items which kinda misses the point.
Rather than this I think it might be worth looking into a way to encourage people to actually use them. A buff to the effects might be useful - an AoE boost would be useful so the vials are more effective against mobs but perhaps applying stronger effects in general would help. Give me a reason to start lobbing vials around.
I do completely agree on the idea of sending items dropped by people on the lift to the next floor so the remaining party members don't lose out on them. It is vastly disheartening when you see someone drop 3 health capsules and a large vitapod (even more so when someone else dropped them off the lift, they grabbed them all and then left - seriously, what the hell?).
Whenever I get to the core, i leave the vials and stuff there deliberately. They say they need supplies...
Automatically leaving surplus stuff on the elevator (and collectable on the next level) if one goes up and others continue is a good idea.
Cashing in the vials is not so hot. It just inflates the crown economy and *discourages* the actual use of them.
The fact that you can buy them at the start of the run does not mean they should be sellable at the end - it only means that you can decrease difficulty by spending crowns which people can do without, and should not be punished for.
I think some of the vials are only really useful to people who lack good equipment.
