As far as I'm aware, no they won't. Your account name will be reserved, but no information has been shed on whether character names will be saved, besides mjohnson saying in another thread that it was a false rumor that names will for sure be saved.

Just an update, plans have been solidified and you WILL have a period of time to create knights using the knight names from your account. It was broadcast in game last night. Cheers to the devs who took a little time to do this for us all!

Spiral Knights is currently closed to players.
The game will reopen to preview players on April 1st at 2pm PDT. You will have a period of time to create knights using the knight names from your account. The forums and wiki will still be accessible while you wait to begin the adventure anew!
Devs/GMs, any clue on how long this period will be?
