Devilite boss ideas are kind of spread around the forums, so I'm just gonna start one to pull the ideas together.
Assuming its T3, allowing up to 5 levels, post your ideas for level names, themes, and any neat design ideas for the maps. new game mechanics are encouraged, but should be kept as simple as possible.
Corporate Clash:
-Mailroom Misery
-Helpdesk Hostility
-Breakroom Brawl
-Middle Mis-Managment
-Executive Office
Mailroom Misery: The mailroom is the starting point (and end point) for most fiendish workers. Forced to sort through hundreds upon thousand of messages a day, these poor folks take out their anger on anyone foolish enough to come claim their mail. The level design has a postal theme which includes breakable mail carts, pneumatic tubes (puzzle trap), and fire traps used to burn unwanted mail.
pneumatic tubes are used as a puzzle trap in order to progress. Players will need to use switch blocks to change the direction of the flow allowing them to open paths, destroy obstructions, and to make safe to travel in at certain points. When active, tubes will have random objects flying through or flung out of it regular intervals. Knights can block these objects, but objects still inside a tube will continue traveling.
Helpdesk Hostility (Likely to be the most hated): This level has an IT theme, complete with DevilIT wandering around to protect the precious network. The level resembles a server room, but so far I haven't thought of any unique ideas for it other then "The Firewall".... still WIP
Breakroom Brawl: Due to budget cutbacks, and to discourage extended breaks, the heater was turned off and the level allowed to ice over. Still, a few resourceful Devilites brave the bitter cold in pursuit of a cup of coffee and stale vending machine snacks. Some Tundralisks wandered into the area to take whatever lunches get left in the refrigerator. Management has yet to address the issue.
Middle Mis-Managment: Rough concept is to use the promotion system as trap for players who aren't careful.
Executive Office: Home of the CEO of the company and the board of Dire-ctors.
C.E.O - Corporate Evil Overlord is a large Devilte that has been in charge of the company for as long as anyone can remember. No longer able to walk due to his size, he rolls around in his executive desk chair whenever he needs to move. Sitting at a table above the area, out of reach of the battle field, is the Board of Dire-ctors that represent the share holders.
- To defeat the CEO, the Knights must complete a Hostile Takeover of the company, by convincing the board members to vote and Fire the CEO. As the votes increase, he changes form out of desperation to keep his comfy job.
To obtain votes, Knights must damage the CEO enough to knock him over. When this happens, one of the board members falls into the battle area, allowing the knights to "persuade" them to change their vote.
Fighting the CEO: During all 4 stages of the fight, there are 2 spawn pads located on the top corners of the arena. These will continually respawn 2 Devilite Overtimers through out the match. When tipped over, a mechanical jack slowly lift the CEO back upright. Board members do not have attacks, but try to evade frequently. When beaten, a board member will raise a red flag to cast his vote then disappear. There will be a lit screen on the back wall of the arena counting votes. If the CEO tips back up before the board members are beaten, a rope will drop down allowing the board members to escape back up to the table. Players will need to knock the CEO over again to get them to drop once more. Once a vote is cast, the players will not need to beat that board member a second time.
Stage1: He appears with a suit and tie with a toupee on his head. Combat is beneath him, so he summons a group of Devilites and a couple Pit-bosses to do the hard work while he sips expresso. Knocking him over drops 1 board member to the ground.
Stage2: Having messed his hair, the CEO starts taking things personally. He now rolls around the area on his executive desk chair, dropping stacks of paper work on nearby Knights. The paper stacks become a type of destructible blocks once the attack is over. He also summons another small group of Devilites. Knocking him over drops 2 board members into the arena.
Stage3: The CEOs hair is really messed up and his tie came loose. Segments of the floor now open up to reveal spike traps. In addition to his paper work attacks, he now has a ranged attack where he sips his coffee and spits globs of poison goo at the knights. No Devilite waves spawn in this stage. Knocking him over drops 2 board members into the arena.
Stage4: The CEO is now desperate and pulling out all the stops. His eyes start burning and his toupee comes to life, attacking Knights like a middle stage lichen colony. Dealing enough damage to the toupee will cause it to go dormant for a short while (30 sec), then springs back to life to resume attacking. 2 pneumatic tubes (1 vertical, 1 horizontal) appear and slowly slide back and forth, flinging an object across the arena at regular intervals. 4 Devilite overtimers will spawn in this stage, one each fire, shock, poison and freeze, in addition to the 2 that constantly respawn. Knocking him over drops the last 2 board members into the arena.
When defeated, the CEO drops a set of "Pink Slip" tokens
