Personally:
FFA: this seems too chaotic for me, there is too much going on the screen, rarely skill-based
Team: now this is what i started playing today and most likely will play this only with how currently its working, random teams totally don't mean a bad thing as long as you can restrain yourself from the if-you-have-a-free-bomb-set-it-as-fast-as-you-can syndrome, friendly fire sucks, i understand that some can't stand it, i respect that; sometimes you get really good synergy with random people, this is massively positive, more than steamrolling on FFA, the bad thing for people can be that the rank points are poor here but seriously, the experience is extremely positive as long as you are willing to try to break the first walls
GvG: not touching this even if you pay me, not my cup of tea due all the other GvG experiences i had in other games, while here we are really massively protected by the GMs some stuff will still go through, plus its easier to stack and steamroll others and i don't feel like looking for people on my level because its Guild vs Guild so it comes super competetive

And generally my experience was bad at start, all the lag, getting inside my own bombs locked northeast on them, this really had my blood boiling from the rage but after some crude experiences i managed to adapt to some point and since i play Team only it doesn't obstruct me as much as it did in FFA. The server-side lagspikes are annoying still but i see that the staff is working on it (reboot today for example) so i hope for the best. And the bribe not working properly is also sucky, it ate like 50 energy from me at one bribe when i paid only 4 or so. But i'm not gonna blame anyone else than me on that, since i read the message about it not working properly, i risked, i sucked up my own fault. Hopefully we can get European servers seeing how the game is hosted on Amazon's EC2 and they have european datacenters.

And a small speculation about the next-to-come PvP gamemode, since its called Lockdown i think it will be about locking down areas, some kind of Domination-esque gamemode, something akin to Team Fortress 2's infamous map - tc_hydro but with variation, something like this map for TF2 - http://www.gamebanana.com/maps/107047

definitely....

Team, players skills are more balanced. You get more chance to get 2 token (winner as a team not a single player).
I think the winning key on this game is not to get yourself killed too often.

And according to what nick said in another thread, when the bribe special prize is a mask for the winner, all players from the winning team in the Team mode get one so sounds like a win:win situation to me.
Here is the post

I'm at my best in

I'm at my best in free-for-all. Otherwise I either risk being a team killer or being held back. It takes mere hesitation to be put in a very vulnerable state in such hectic action.

I find to be on the bottom of the map to be the safest place, since camera view restricts you on top and thus gets you caught in a blast you never could have predicted. Be careful of stale camping, however.

To be honest, my opinion on

To be honest, my opinion on the modes is generally the same as yours.

Free-for-all is chaotic, and once someone gets in first place, they're generally going to stay there. Unless you get lucky or are really good, you're probably only getting one token and no crowns.

Random Team games are where the fun is at. I actually have time to think about my bomb placement without immediately being blown to ashes. Plus, you basically have a 50% chance of winning the match and getting more than one token. Overall, much more fun than free-for-all.

Haven't tried Guild vs Guild, but I can imagine it's just as good as, if not better than Team, considering you have a chance to discuss strategies with your mates.

I'll play all three, but my preference is GvG. It's not so much about winning or losing, but playing with friends, though it doesn't hurt that all the guild members I know of are at least close enough to average (or better) that they can hold their own. FFA is fun when you want to cause some mayhem, but isn't very rewarding otherwise; random team is actually pretty decent, since I assume it makes an attempt to match teams by rank.

I agree with the TS, don't

I agree with the TS, don't know about GvG though.
However, I prefer 2v2 or 3v3 over 4v4. Especially when the map is small it's so enormously chaotic.

Aha

I like FFA, but at the end of the game it becomes too chaotic. The strategy involved is really simple and there's a lot of luck involved.

Haven't played random teams much, so I can't say much about it.

I like GvG the best. Killing teammates is always fun.

I'm finding the team games to

I'm finding the team games to be the most balanced. You'll get good and bad players mixed in. So it's usually not completely one sided.
Though I have had a few games where my whole team were pros, and we never died once. We were just dominating the match.

FFA is good in theory, but as said, once someone takes the lead, they're usually there to stay. That's because of the way the scoring works.
You would need to kill THEM specifically more times than everyone else combined to bring the scores back to par.

You get a point for each player that dies. And you get another if you were the one that killed them.
So once someone's in the lead, they're staying there, because every other player that dies keeps their score going. And they'll keep getting kills themselves.
You'd need everyone to gang up on them for a while to bring them down.

Hands down, free for all is my favorite. I am pretty good at clearing entire screens - I end up team killing far too much in the other games. :( I can keep track of the people but not always predict where they're gonna go and I can't direct 'em to safety.

I enjoy ffa, mostly because it's easy to win when everyone is running around planting bombs randomly without paying attention to their surroundings.

FFA is the best. Still, they should add a session where only friends are allowed to play.

Once I was on a team of people with starter gear, the other team was filled with people who had all this 4-5* gear. Surprisingly, we crushed them :P

I have never played with my guild, not enough members. But I personally like free for all better than a random team because I normally get stuck with people who stink on my team, where in free for all I can beat up on anyone.

@Sturak You are forgetting

@Sturak
You are forgetting that you and the player in the lead get the same number of points from other players dying. The only difference in your scores is the difference in the number of kills each of you has. Thus the lead player does not have an unfair advantage in FFA, he is just clearly better than everyone else.
