im going to post a different topic because i wanted to discuss some questions about gate boosting and gate rewards... but I get what you mean. however I don't get what the incentive is for someone to boost a crystal at all.

As a new player, there is very little documentation on how the whole system works. When it was explained to me by the NPC, it said get crystals -> crystals make games -> you get crowns. And that was simple, but I tried to pick up different colors from my team's majority of GET THE BIGGEST OF ALL GREEN HURR", and then autosell later. The menu doesnt make much sense either, it says how many gems it needs for this gate and thats about all I could decipher. Some more clarification would lead to a world of good.

boosting increases the payout

boosting increases the payout for that particular color crystal in that particular area. It's expensive and not an immediate reward for the booster. In the current system you start with a 5 crown payout for each crystal color, and can boost it higher. But with the autosell button, most people don't care about the current pay rates because they know it will be a minimum of 5 crowns. By setting the inital payout to 0, you incentive guilds and big spenders to organize what color crystals (and therefore what type of gate will be formed) are rewarded for a particular gate. I as an apathetic player am not going to give away the crystals for free if I know another gate might pay for them. So I'll sell my red and blue to one gate, then my green and yellow to another gate, which have been boosted by the big spenders to give rewards to players. It's a question of minor increase to reward, or a reward vs no reward system.

Speculation is all we really

Speculation is all we really have at the moment and that auto sell button is doing nothing for the cause. as long as people just dump minerals we are going to see repeating levels.

Even if there wasn't an auto

Even if there wasn't an auto sell button, the idea that we need to rely on others to do the right thing in a MMO is a flaw in itself. Most I notice that run through a dungeon don't care about what color they get. Just the size of the gem. Yes they will auto sell it later but I'm sure they would sell everything one at a time just as fast.

Then there is the issue of those that really are aiming for a certain dungeon. What if one guild wants nothing but fire for the drops or another wants nothing but fiends? Then what?

Either this needs to be random, or not so easy to abuse that nearly every dungeon will be the same. So far I am scared to see that two dungeons coming up will be nothing but jellys. I'm sure the rest will go down the same path.

I kind of understand the predilection towards jelly at the end. You need a predetermined slime level and two more above that to get to the Jelly King, I believe.

For Firestorm Citadel, it must be the same thing, but with fire.

actually i thought those two were predetermined on a gate (so theyre either there before anyone invests minerals, or theyre not there at all). i dont think the players can steer a gate towards having those levels, they just either will or won't...

With the large influxes of new players, gates are going through some growing pains as they adjust to loads of minerals from the same early stratums.

We're aware of the issue and will have a solution in place that will prevent all stratums being the same (in this case slime). Until things stabilize you can count on our monitoring and repairing any unfortunate gate results. We feel like this is best for the community.

Probably a good idea. I remember the days of the solid arena gates and that got pretty boring.

Thank you so much for the feedback. It really means a lot to myself and most likely everyone here. I hope everything works out well without causing too much stress on your end.

I still don't know how minerals correlate to gates. I just click auto sell and walk away.

Creating Stratum Themes

If you guys want to work toward creating a specific stratum theme it would seem to me that the best course of action is to collectively decide to contribute toward the rightmost gate as soon as a new one appears and just keep contributing to that specific gate as it shifts leftward. Most people who just autosell blindly will hit the first or second unopened gates and not bother with the one in the back. Hopefully most of it will be filled by the time it gets to be the next gate to open (six days later). If enough people do it we might even be able to do two gates out of every four instead of just one. That way, only half of all the gates will ever be all Slime.

keep in mind that when the

keep in mind that when the slime gates are all active, the minerals are going to be geared AGAINST slime. so you may see the gates dominated by one type of strata at times, but at the very least it should be switching which type every few gates.

Many kudos to the admins and devs for their attention. I love the game, love the gate system. I think Dorael has the right idea and I think some interguild cooperation could go along way to creating the gates we want as well as pinning down exactly how gates are decided.

I thought the Autosell button

I thought the Autosell button went across all Gate Stratums to give the player the best price for their minerals?
In this regard, wouldn't boosting desirables minerals on specific stratums or gates in general be worth the cost in the end?
Because if that isn't the case, then the Autosell function could probably use a rework in that regard. Since it's not getting you the best price for your minerals, it's just Autodumping them.

Also, minerals across all gates that are the same value should be distributed evenly when Autoselling, instead of piled all into one gate, this way the load decreases for minerals not being actively boosted.
Just so the leftmost gate doesn't get molested by millions of unwanted minerals.

Seems reasonable but once

Seems reasonable but once again, you're going to need everyone that pays attention to do this. I suggest making a thread for whenever the new gate is ready to receive materials and decide what you want to go for in advance, whether its a brand new combination or a known one.

I think that the base value of a mineral should start at 5, but be worth more as more of the same mineral are put in (and less as they get overshadowed). This way, smart sellers could get more crowns for their minerals and we would get more varied levels.

Say one man decides to put in 100 (must have been saving) moonstone. Now, moonstone is worth 6 a piece. Say people put more moonstone and some dark matter in, moonstone and dark matter will increase, and all the other crystals will be worth less when put in.

To best take advantage of this, crystals should only be paid for once a level has as many crystals as it can hold.

Of course, if there's any levels that forms from a balanced amount of crystals, it won't work.
