The Simulation Room

Hipster-Knight

With an ever-growing assortment of weapons and armour to choose from, as well as a greater variety of enemies, it can all be a little bit daunting to your average Knight: what weapon to choose? Should I bother with a CTR on my bombs? How much protection against the elements would this cool-looking outfit give?

Now, thanks to the newly-reclaimed technology available from the Clockworks, all this and more can be possible.

For a small fee, whether it be crowns or energy (or even materials), Knights will be allowed access to the newly-developed Simulation Room, where any type of weapon and armour can be generated and tested against different enemies in a totally safe* environment. This will no doubt be beneficial for those interested as to how certain weapons work and how much of a boost the UV bonuses give and whether to strive for them on specific gear. For example, I'm currently looking to craft an Autogun - if I do so and get a medium CTR, would this be useful to me or should I sell it?

I think this would be an excellent feature as currently there's no way to test weapons besides obtaining and binding them to you, and would be a great addition to Haven. Thoughts?

been wishing for this for a long time

i would love this, otherwise i would either have to buy it myself and bind it to me and find out i dont like it, or hope someone else has it and take their word for it and find out i dont like it. for example the autogun, i dont like standing still to shoot my gun, but everyone i asked before i bought it said it was great.......for them. so i would love to have this as a feature.

Agreed

This would be a really nice feature.

I to got the Auto gun, took it all the way to blitz thinking it was gonna get better. It never did.

I'd sell it, but the un-bind + everything I spent making it = no one could afford it. lol

This game has an expensive learning curve.

This would be beautiful, but

This would be beautiful, but I don't like the "pay to get in" idea. But that's just me, I'm super cheap. xD

This is sort of what I had in

This is sort of what I had in mind when I made my "suggestion for guilds" thread.

It was not to trade equipment, but simple to test out new equipment set up and see how it worked with our play style. Wanna see how fast that double vog will make you? then just try it on and see what it does to DA, levi, or any other sword you please.

So +1 on this.

I think that everyone in the

I think that everyone in the community would like this idea, but it would have to be heavily restricted. If people were able to go into this room and play with the best equipment, there would be no reason to really work for it.

One way to make it work would be to put you in a room with one, stationary, invulnerable enemy and let you whack at it under a time limit (maybe 3 minutes or so per entry). Alternatively, apply an energy cost to activate the room. A good place for it would be the already present training hall.

Before I saw this post I had

Before I saw this post I had a very similar idea:
There would be a 3rd option at the vendor (in addition to buying and previewing) called "Rental". When you "rented" a piece of equipment (renting a recipe would just give you that item), you would get a timer up by your minimap, maybe 3-5 minutes or something. Not long enough to run a dungeon, but enough to run next door to the training hall.

I DO like the whole simulation room aspect tho o.O Being able to spawn lvl-appropriate monsters would be a welcome change to the one-hit-kill scuttlebots.
