@sharpie 4k is the maximum you should pay for it.
Actually Bills hats are worth 5 keys.
1 key = 2-2.33 refined
1 refined = 500 Ce
Hence a white painted Bills = 5000+ CE
My advice OP, sell the Bills for keys, sell the keys individually for 1000+ CE.

One Bill's is $10.
10(50/20000)=4000
1 Refined is fetching 500-600 CE right now.
Bills is worth 5 keys.
Keys are 2.49 in the Mann Co store.
Trust me, it's 1 refined = 500 CE.
> One Bill's is $10.
One Bill is even $9. 10 is painted white/black/ts. so its 9(50/20000) most of the time. But people selling TF2 items and playing SK recently like to count with Valve prices. That's understandable but unreasonable in TF2 trading. Valve prices have nothing to do with worthiness of an item. For example nametag costs $5 in a store lol. While none will give more than 2/3 of refined for one.
Also 1 key as it has been said they sell for 2.33 refined. So even if you say key=1000ce, refined still less than 500ce.
Just face the fact the problem will always exist :)
And there's nothing wrong if someone wants to overpay.
>Trust me, it's 1 refined = 500 CE.
Trust me, you're an idiot. Don't go by Valve prices. And 1 refined is more likely to be sold for 400CE.
keys are valued @ 2$ everywhere.
ive been buying buds/keys @ 300-400 no problem and the only people ive seen buying ref @ 500ce are beginners who dont know any better because of 1 guy trolling in tf2/sk threads selling his metal.
Anyone who plays TF2 knows how difficult it is to get a single refined. Most people, including veteran TF2 players, get just over 1/3 of a refined in drops every week.
Most people get 6-8 weapons a week. Let's say 1 refined = 500 CE.
6-8 weapons is around 165-200 CE.
A veteran player in SK can easily make up to 700 CE a week just by playing.
Take the reality of scarcity into account, instead of simply quoting off market prices.
A typical TF2 veteran makes around 170-200 CE worth of metal (using 500 CE as a placeholder) a week.
A typical SK player can make 500-700 CE a week quite incidentally by just playing.
Metal (and especially keys) are scarce by comparison.
The only thing that balances things out is the fact that there are more TF2 players. But even then, there aren't many TF2 players that play both games.
There has to be some parity between the games, informed by the restrictions that limit a players natural earning potential.
TF2 players don't make money from drops, they make money from trading. If you think TF2 players (especially "veterans") only make half a ref every week, you obviously don't know that much about TF2.
The TF2 players that trade often enough to make a profit aren't going to toss away their refined to play SK. They're in it for the long haul, for unusuals and promos.
Been trading in TF2 since last year btw. High volume trader. Just recently slowing down to play SK.
I traded away 3 unusual in the last 2 weeks for money, whatchu talkin' bout, Willis :D
