Many of us would love to see a more traditional shotgun esque weapon implemented into the game - just look at any gun related suggestion thread
Now stop quibbling at me by saying the magnus lines are shotgun equivalents, i mean a handgun(cause thats what knights use) which fires a spread of shots, simultaneously, like a shotgun loaded with shot rather than with slugs
Also note that at some point there either was or it was the devs intention of adding shotguns, there is a shotgun icon of the resources folder
SO here its a line of hand guns which use a typical 2-shot clip, knight cannot move while firing, and charge will push knight back (basically the same attack pattern as heavy handguns)
the standard shot fires a spread of 3 shots, like that of tier 2 turret enemies, though preferably within a slightly reduced arc
each shot does less damage than a blaster shot though significantly more than auto-gun shots - at range only 1 projectile will hit the targeted enemy whereas at a closer range 2 will and within melee distance all 3 will hit
the charge shot fires 5/7 more powerful projectiles, similar to T3 polyps or 4/5* snarble barb charge attack (possibly have the charge fire 5 shots up till the 4* and have the 5* fire a spread of 7)
its a gun designed to hit a spread of enemies rather than kill a single target quickly
it has low speed and mediocre to low damage per projectile (of any sort but i think normal would be best) but i think it will find use, especially if the charge attack has moderate knockback (it would be cool, and possible, to have the regular shots do low knockback when first fired, like a reverse pulsar but with no projectile image change - it would then act like a movie shotgun, which would be even cooler than a regular one)
potential names
fowling gun
scatter pistol
blunderbuss
punt pistol
lupara - i like this as the 5* version as it refers to sawn-off shotguns in Italian, very mafia :)
No!
Nobody needs any of that crap.
Especially if you think it shouldn't be like it was made by Spiral Knights.
