I think the game would be more interesting if players could choose their knights' dominant arms. Does anyone else wonder where all the left-handed knights are? I also believe that the choice to not equip a shield would provide more of a challenge to more skilled/experienced players, especially those who've already (practically) beaten the game. How it would work exactly I'm not sure but an idea would be if one could forgo the equipping of shield, instead unlocking the other two weapon slots for free. Then, the player's knight would be shown holding two weapons at a time, and could press the shield button to use his/her offhand weapon (only one attack at a time of course). Those are my ideas. What do you all think?

no way man that would only cause grief to players

dual wielding has been suggested and the general consensus is anything to remove your shield is bad

yeah, given the way damage

yeah, given the way damage scales, dual wields are only survivable in T1. The issue that comes in every dual wield thread is that the shield is too integral to combat to simply trade out. They would need to give the players some form of minimal blocking.

While dual wielding seems very unlikely...

Since the game pretty much forces you to go with the shield. I do like the idea of the left hand getting more of an advantage to personalize your character, be it to handle swords with 1 main hand and pulling out guns with your off hand. (no dual wielding of course, it would just be 1 weapon at a time and would just be a cosmetic change, bombs wouldn't even be affected considering how they're used). Something that I was also thinking would be along the lines of cutter type swords being held backwards (as if you're stabbing) and the avenger/faust/ heavy swords to actually be used as 2 handed weapons, but your off hand still has the shield.

TL:DR: alternative fighting styles or fighting stances and attack animations depending on what hand you're holding the weapon, but shield still remains for you to block and all attack patterns remain, just for cosmetic purposes.

But yeah, flipping the character and just being just left handed is nice :D

@ Duel wield comments

The Acheron has something to say to you:
Hey look guys, I can hold this sheathe while I have my shield. Obviously, if I can hold this stick / sheath in my hand, I can't hold any sort of sword. Nope.

For the southpaw idea. I'd like to have some visual difference between my peers in this game, and just flipping the model to a left orientation seems good enough. I'm with the consensus on duel wielding, but otherwise yes ~ sounds like a good idea to me.

As a lefty, I could not care

As a lefty, I could not care less which hand my Knight used to cut stuff up with. While it would be interesting it just doesn't seem like there's enough demand to make the option of mirroring your character a mechanic worth including. Plus, there's the visual problem with mirroring things like shields, accessories, etc that are asymmetrical.
