Despite what I may have said recently, I do love SK and eagerly await future developments for it (hopefully with a reasonable price tag though), anyways...

The development I look most forward too would be King Tinkinzar, when I imagine the levels leading up to him I always get the image of fighting your way through some sort of "industrial palace", one level I thought that could really work would be a sort of "Prototype Lab", could also be called "Testing Grounds", or "Imperial R&D", something along those lines.

It would function much like the key gathering in 'Red Carpet Runaround' for jk, or freeing the sprites in "Charred Court" for vara, as it involves the players having to complete a challenge in a number of rooms in order to clear a barrier that blocks the main path onwards (like the multiple locked gates for jk, or extinguishing the wall of shadow flames at the Charred Court). The barrier (whatever it is) is unimportant to this suggestion however so I won't go into that.

The unique aspect of this level would be that, as a prototype lab, each room or "Lab" would contain some sort of whacky mini-boss that is a work-in-progress project for the gremlins that is only at an experimental stage and will probably never see the light of day (or whatever simulated sunshine they have in the clockworks). To move on the players would have to defeat one of these machines in each room.

There could also be more possible machines then there are labs, so each time players reach this level the game would randomly select which ones will appear so players will never know what to expect when they enter and would have to play the level multiple times for a chance to see everything that could spawn.

The thing I really like about this idea is that if the devs were to do this they could literally "go wild" with the ideas of what these machines could be like and their abilities, the more whacky, insane, and/or hilarious the better. These are suppose to be crazy inventions that do crazy things with really no rationale behind why they were created.

The only indication of what the players will face would be a message saying the name of what experiment the is in the lab they are about to enter, adding a sort of anticipation to what could be inside.

It could also be a testing ground for the devs themselves as the experimental enemies here could be used to see how players react to something that may appear more commonly in the game in the future.

Here are a few ideas I had for what could appear:

Mommy Roarmulus
A mobile machine that moves around the room deploying all sorts of gun puppies

Raving Rabid Launcher
A large turret that literally fires rabid wolvers at players.

Iron Maiden
A large walking robot that chases after players with a giant vacuum, when it sucks a player up it then fires him/her like a cannonball at another player (if your solo it just fires you at the wall)

Your ideas, thoughts?

don't be so negative

@Khamsin, with a few edits, this could be implemented changing Tinkizar with a random crazy gremling scientist that got kicked from roarmulus project . Or as a section that was part of IMF,but got separated by an explosion, etc.

The idea of the "Iron Maiden" made me actually laugh when I thought of it, there are just so many possibilities for enemies based on bad puns. If anything it would be fun to see what sort of mad ideas other people have for crazed machines even if this will never make it into the game, but I do think (with what I know) that the idea of an experimental lab for the gremlins would fit perfectly for the 'personality' of their race.
