It would make it easier to find inactive players if a last login date/time/or online (depending long was it before they last logged in or are just on atm) was underneath the name of the social panel
Should make crowded guilds or friends list a less of a hassle to manage.

I imagine it's a nightmare trying to remove inactive players from large guilds at the moment

Pretty much, you can expect

Pretty much, you can expect someone to be on all the time to track every single timezone.

Also helps adding in who has been idle for 5 mins, a bit of a waste having a "this person has been idle" message after that pm was written

+1, like the picture

+1, like the picture too.

Though I'd take it by a simple day by day basis instead of moment to moment. Seems like a waste of data there if we just wanna know if the player has been absent awhile. [though it would be good to know if you just missed your friend I suppose]

True, just have a habit in

True, just have a habit in expressing a variety potential options.
In some cases, more info in a single function tends to work wonders in game design, as long as it isn't a cluttered mess.
But I guess in the end it's all in the matter on how the game/database handles these type of things.

Agreed, a general day by day would be good enough.
