Mewkat.
I met a Mewkat in the Clockworks today.
It was small and sweet. It wandered around contentedly; I watched it for a long time.
Then I had to kill it. It was so innocent, but the gates wouldn't drop, I couldn't progress unless I destroyed that poor kat. My guilt was not assuaged by the fact that it burst into treats when I hit it.
It didn't drop a hat--but I doubt I would have been able to wear it anyway; I'd have been reminded of what I did. Q _ Q

ITT: Favorite monsters and favorite encounters with said monsters.

My friend Tantarian and I ran into a heart puppy aka Love Puppy it was so cool, and we took pictures etc. Tantarian said to me "Nj we must kill it....it drops rare items at times etc." I argued with him its so innocent it just wants to heal us how can we do this, but in the end Tantarian won and we had to kill the poor puppy. I still can not sleep well in the night knowing I have about 10 crowns of this puppies in my money =(.
Infuriatingly, I have yet to encounter any rare enemies since the official launch. Yet I encountered a lot of them in the preview event, but this was before their special drops were implemented. I've seen the Impostocube, Mewkat, Love Puppy and the Soul Jelly -- the lattermost being my favourite -- and none of them dropped even a giant gold coin upon expiring. And they had to expire, because every area I found them in was one where I had to destroy all of the enemies to proceed.
The pain was nowhere near worth the prize...

the only thing ive run into was an impostocube. two so far i think. i think i got a gold crown off one of them, no drops. do those guys drop something special?

>implying we understand what you're trying to say
Someone reading it fast would read tears... he pointed out, it's in fact, treats.
Is it supposed to be treats though?
Since the game went live, I've run into a couple Impostocubes, a Mewkat and a Sloom! I swear it really was a Sloom and not a Soul Jelly - it put me to sleep. I realize now that while I was snoozing, I should have snapped a screenshot!
Yesterday I saw a Love Puppy in a cluster of regular Gun Puppies, but before it could do any healing, my party-mates killed the heck out of it. I have no idea what they were thinking.
I also killed the Tortodrone a few times before they removed him. He even dropped me a Stone Tortoise shield once. I miss him...

i met this rare passionate creature on one of my excursions to jelly king i saw him in the wild congragating with the other jellies he seemed to be the alpha male and so was a fatherly figure as i saw that i couldnt help but drop a graviton bomb and kill them but for atleast 2 seconds they were all together ..........before my bombs blew them to kingdom come
That poor Mewkat could only take one hit, and it died---it left me a health vial and some shiny crowns, for which I was grateful, but I miss its companionship.
I've fought an Impostocube as well----it made me laugh for a bit, but it was aggressive and I was forced to slay it in self defense.
I used my atomizer on it.

I'll go vegan, definitely. And maybe report the developers to PETA.
Serious now: there should be a reward for NOT killing the Mewkat and the Puppy healer thing, i think. Objections?
I could see that but I don't know how you'd go about doing it, too many cases they get stuck behind a gate because of a group button in order to proceed.
Exclude them off the required kill list to complete a level? Optional kill if you want the drop? Major health drain if you do?
*Somewhere a phantom has spawned from the evil you have committed*
Curse effect on the killer? I'd find that amusing. It'd likely bug out like crazy, but I'd like a moment to reflect on whether the drop was worth the negative stat.

how about after you kill it you keep hearing random "mews" until you leave the clockworks lol :3
How about this.
If you manage to be able to kill either 100 mewkats, you get access to a special challenge area where you fight the boss/leader of the mewkats.
It shall be huge.
Guess it works with love puppies too, but a giant turret would be too....easy....unless it had multiple guns attached to it, that all home in.
I think 100 Mewkats is a little too optimistic. They're rare enough as it is. Still, killing enough of them over your career to get their leader to appear, and possibly defeating it for a guaranteed bonus item, might hold some merit.
On a side-note, I don't think a Gun Puppy boss would be impossible.
Perhaps there is a graveyard/repair shop where all the dead Mewkats, Impostocubes, Slooms, Soul Jellies, and Love Puppies go after they die? It'd make a great bonus level, walking through, seeing the ghosts of the monsters you killed, finally free from the pain of living in the Clockworks.

Bro! Look at the date of the thread before you post in it and necro it!
Be considerate.
To answer your question, no I don't believe they do anymore. That was a Beta thing
Been there, Didn't hesitate for a second and loved the gold coin.
