1) If you use the charge attack when you're standing next to a high wall, do the three swords just blow up without even moving towards the enemy? Happens to me =/

2) Does the DA sometimes deal Elemental damage ONLY? If I recall, resisted damage is grey, normal damage is white, and effective damage is yellow. Sometimes both swings of my DA deal yellow damage against constructs, and sometimes doesn't (properly deals normal damage on the second swing)

i got an Avenger, and when

i got an Avenger, and when releasing a charge when a wall is behind me sometimes that happens, i've also seen it happening to DA users

i dont get why sometimes damage color is not the right 1
at JK runs when i hit mini jellies with Faust's 1st hit its white but the 2nd is yello
with Bliizbrand when i hit zombies with charge the number is white, but its more than the number when i hit trijans or jellies

so about color numbers its bugged for all weps i think, but thats just color not real damage, u should see what the actuall number of the 1st hit and compare it to a fiend or jelly

1) I actually see the blades getting sucked backwards towards the wall... it's rather easy to trigger (and annoying) during last wave of arena round 3. They changed how the blades come out but won't fix this. >_>

2) I have a Sun Shard bomb... it does split Elemental and Piercing damage. When I use it against fiends before it's level 10, the damage numbers were grey. After reaching level 10 the numbers are yellow. It seems you need to go over a certain damage threshold to see yellow numbers, or the display is simply bugged. I've never seen grey numbers hitting constructs with DA though.

1. Yes, and like Evilnut said, sometimes the blades even look like they get sucked backwards. I've been told that this was a "fix" to prevent some wall bypassing glitch from being abused, but the result is awful. I hope they're not crazy enough to think that the charge is fine now.

2. A lot of people seem to say that damage colours are pretty buggy. The actual number is right, but the colour might not be as it should.

as long as the real damage dealt is right it doesnt really matter for me what the color is

but theres something about oilers, when they r not on fire they take normal elemental damage but when they r on fire they take less damage from elemental weapons

1. The point of this is to make it so you cant faceroll charge spam from a corner and easily clear anything in the game. This has been the case since beta.

2. When you hit VERY high the numbers bug out and aren't larger and orangeish for some reason, also has been happening since beta.

I know that this thread is old but still i will comment. I don't have a DA but ive got a avenger. The split damage isn't dealt at the same time, instead it's a 50/50 chance of either damage type (normal/elemental). I found this out when fighting against constructs and tested it out on other enemy types. Against constructs (constructs as an example of white and yellow damage) sometimes the damage is white and sometimes the damage is yellow but the yellow damage is always higher then the white damage so it isn't a bug. I tested out 100 hits on constructs of different depths and it comes to about 50/50 yellow to white damage (normal/elemental)

I hope this helped many DA/Avenger users as I didn't get it before aswell.

Necroing a month old thread to post some false informations is not a very good idea.

No, there is not a 50/50 chance of either damage type, each swing do normal AND elemental. I'm almost sure it's half/half for the first swing, not sure for second swing nor charge.

As said by Chris, the color of the hit is buggy (the thresholds are odd), but the number are exact and take damage modificator in account. It depends on the depth (as the damage is different for each depth). There is no way it's a 50/50 chance because in a given depth, on the same mob type, the damage and color will ALWAYS be the same.

Fradow is right, the first swing appears to be half normal/elemental. Subsequent swings and the charge attack don't have higher elemental portions so, particularly in T1/2, the elemental amount isn't a sufficient portion of the damage to trigger the bonus coloring. You are still doing the right amount of damage, it is just that the color is misleading.

As Chris said, the numbers appear normal if the weapon is doing very high damage. (ex: blitz needle + poisoned vanaduke = normal-sized numbers, but way above normal damage).
