Treasure Valut rant

Ok, seriously. Those Treasure Valuts pissed me off.
Firstly, CE gates there. Its so stupid. This is TREASURE VALUT, a random floor that you wish to find, full of treasures and when you finally get there, you see what?? You need to spent energy to get your treasure....
Second thing, Treasure Valut full of... what exactly? Becouse what is there is not a treasure. Just a bunch of coins that are not even enough to buy CE you spent to enter that lvl. Currently it costs about 620-650 crowns to for 10CE and tier 3 treasure valuts that stands amongsts hardest SK lvls give just 505 crowns.
Someone needs to learn definition of trasure...

I agree.
You'd think you'd be happy to find a "treasure vault", especially since it's usually that, or a graveyard.
But when it comes down to it, I actually prefer the graveyards. Treasure vaults are short and easy, but they're also boring, don't give any significant amount of money [so much for "treasure"] and little or no heat.
It's not like they're totally awful, they're just.. pointless and not at all what they claim to be or should be.
They should be a nice bonus stage where one can get lots of money. I mean, it's a random chance to get in one after all, and you can't invite people to them. Why not have a big reward?

My thought was that Treasure vaults should give the exact same loot you would have gotten if you had killed every monster in an equivalant level.
So lets say there's a chace of getting either a treasure vault or a clockwork tunnel. If you kill everything in the clockwork tunnel you would get 700 crowns, 700 heat, 2 hearts, 2 vitapods, 1 health capsule, 2 stun vials, 1 grim spark, and 1 mecha-knight. Assuming that, the neighboring treasure vault should give 700 crowns, 700 heat, 2 hearts, 2 vitapods, 1 health capsule, 2 stun vials, 1 grim spark, and 1 mecha-knight.
This would make treasure vaults into a room where you dont have to work to get your money, as opposed to a "Gazillions of Crowns" level.

Oh! another "treasure vaults suck" thread!
Yeah, they still suck. they still give good crowns per minute played, but bad crowns per CE. They still give lots of spark tokens, but spark tokens are no longer worth very much.
TVs suck because OOO needed to balance out the great crowns/heat you get from graveyards.

I don't mind treasure vaults, I mean sometimes they're sad because they have low crowns, but sometimes I appreciate the breather, or the pretty colors atleast.
Pretty colors are pretty afterall.

Because right now a Treasure Vault is basically "make about 200 crowns and a few gems while Kleptolisks make off with your Health Capsules and other stuff."

To the Kleptolisk comment. If the situation calls for it I usually just get my party to drop all their pills and/or capsules at the start of the level so there isn't a chance that a Kleptolisk could nab one. For instance if I'm running to do a Shadow Lair I will make sure everyone drops their pills and capsules just to be sure. Losing a few pills for absolutely no reason when going to a Shadow Lair could be disastrous.

That might work if you're with Friends/Guildies but if you're the type who has neither and just does PuGs instead then you're probably never gonna see those dropped items again.
Also I though Kleptolisks could eat items that were on the floor?

Something's not really right when people look forward to graveyards but fear treasure vaults.
Treasure vaults need more cash, and graveyards need to be harder. Makes enough sense.
And kleptolistks are to sophisticated to eat food off the floor. That's why they don't spit at you like other chromas.

"If the situation calls for it I usually just get my party to drop all their pills and/or capsules at the start of the level so there isn't a chance that a Kleptolisk could nab one."
Hahahaha, what

I'm not entirely sure, but in my limited experience, if a Kleptolisk nabs something and you kill it, it drops it right back down again. Usually I'd shield and stuff, making sure they don't steal, so the above the scenario's only happened twice.
Treasure Vault, though? God, I hate those. I'd much prefer a graveyard over the stupid things. It's boring and gives little heat and crowns...too bad we can't avoid them like Candlestick Keeps.

Fortune laughs at the Greedy more like it. They definitely need to boost the crown rewards if they want them to feel like a special prize. More CR, no energy gates, etc.

You can't die at a treasure vault (if you, i have some bads news for you). I don't want to be rewarded for doing nothing.

I'd be happy if they just replaced the TVs with a jelly farm. Good crowns and heat; awesome fun; calm, bright atmosphere. What more could you ask for in a level?
Not to mention they're full of jellies, which are clearly the best video game character ever.

yah, the only thing about treasure vaults is that they're usually quiet. Not much else really, except the odd obsession with the rainbow crystal formations.
Otherwise, they're pretty much empty :/
Mesa wanted an actual stage, now no fun and wasted 10 mist... Q_Q

When I came across the Treasure Vault way back when I was a newbie, I was overjoyed. "Free money! No danger! Awesome!"
That joy quickly turned to sorrow when I realized just how terrible the Treasure Vault was in comparison to anything ever in the game.

Treasure vaults are just what i said in the subject. Torture. They only contain 2 dim-witted enemys. What? Enemies are money BAGS! The REAL Treasure vaults are Graveyards. I mean, The longer you stay, the more big bucks you get. BUT, I guess treasure vaults are OK as they contain 20+ treasure boxes which is heaven (Not the town, i mean haven above the clouds) if you are searching for spark tokens (Primal spark, Vice versa).

I have to agree, I often prefer the Graveyards for earning a higher crown/heat payout, and they're fairly easy to go through with any elemental sword. And while Treasure Vaults aren't really filled with much of their namesake, it can be a nice break if you have to push through some rougher levels in your run, and the Kleptolisks are usually never a problem.

Looks like someone doesn't TREASURE this floor. *yeeeaaaaaah* 8D
but yeah not that much crowns :I
"Treasure vaults are short and easy, but they're also boring,"
This. So much this.
There's long passageways with crowns. Picking them up would be completely mindless if it wasn't for the few camouflaged foes--and once you know they exist, they're only going to hurt you if you're extremely careless or get an unfortunate lagburst. Either you slaughter them or you get annoyed at yourself/lag.
How I'd fix it:
* Shorten the running bits. Basic movement isn't fun.
* Remove the enemies.
* Spice it up. E.g., It's no longer a treasure vault. Instead, you've chanced into the Gremlin version of Let's Make a Deal! Will you take the Standard Prize Package or risk your capsules and/or health for the Grand Prize? All sorts of silliness can be done with this theme--pitting players against each other in a massive jar smashing contest, spinning prize wheels, etc.

Someone needs to learn how to spell lol

Let's say you've battled tooth and nail through a dozen hard levels on T2 or T3, which left you with only a few pips of health. Wouldn't hitting a Treasure Vault be a much-needed relief compared to having to fight through a Graveyard?

For one, it's boring. Second, there is not much profit.
It's labelled: Treasure Vault-Fortune smiles on the greedy.
It may as well be renamed as: My back yard-A few unpleasant surprises, but otherwise, not much else.
There aren't many crowns. Or heat. Tokens, maybe. You only have to watch out for Chromalisks that steal your stuff.
Yeah, some people appreciate the rest break, but not those who are trying to get the biggest bang for their buck in the clockworks. It's supposed to be: 'YAY! TV!" Instead of '.....well at least it's quiet and peaceful.'

Let's say you've battled tooth and nail through a dozen hard levels on T2 or T3, which left you with only a few pips of health. Wouldn't hitting a Treasure Vault be a much-needed relief compared to having to fight through a Graveyard?
Eh? No, if you have only a few pips of health, you want a GY not a TV. TVs don't give you hearts, GYs drop lots of hearts and health pills. It is very rare for me to come out of a GY without hearts and pills left on the ground.
On the bright side, OOO has insured that people don't get suckered into joining a party on a TV.
On another thread, someone suggested that a lot o the "problems" with TVs could be solved if they were renamed "peaceful valley", or "Elysium" or something.

I think there should be a path that you can choose to pay CE for and in there contains the Treasure Vault Guardian. When you defeat TVG There is either a specific item that has a chance to drop or there is a chance that a weapon, armor, bomb, gun could drop and the star level would depend on which tier you find the treasure vault.
Also, there could be like 10 different TVG's and they would also be random so you never know which you will get and their difficulty would also determined by the tier. What do you think?

Treasure Vaults, or Treasure Valuts, need fewer mineral deposits and more heat/crowns. Fortune most certainly does not smile on the greedy in the case of that level.

Kill two birds with one stone: Put Tortodrone in the Treasure Vault, and make him explode with heat and crowns if you defeat him.

Mashing boxes, crystals and Lizards is not nearly as fun or rewarding as mashing Zombies, tombstones, and Phantoms.

-You fight only a few blue chroma's. So you mostly RELAX.

I have a list of what every single level is worth on each stratum, thanks to the wonders of math & friends who collected 1000s of samples. Treasure Vaults actually reward well in the big picture. Don't forget it's also a really fast level to get through if you're simply trying to move on down, which can be a bonus.
Each of the tokens you'll find (our average is 3.5) is worth 100 crowns if sold in bulk as a trinket, or potentially more if you trade them for popular expensive materials to AH or use yourself.
However, it's not worth much for materials themselves unless you get lucky with a Dragon Scale. So for soloing S4-6 other types of levels are preferred.
For reward improvements, I wouldn't mind a lil arena in there you could choose to fight for bonus cr/heat :)

I agree with Kwizzy and Nicoya-Kitty maybe a tortodrone(finally they're would be a use for them) or more enemies.

I say the treasure vault should have a huge and massive amount of tokens (around 20 tokens of each type!) since they are somewhat useful for like 5 star materials or some trinkets if you want to collect them.

ah... I thought this was a "Treasure Vault Forums SUcks" thread.
anyways, I totally agree with u. pretty much all coins are coppers/copper-silver. THe loot the Chromalisks drop is probably worth more that all those crowns that lie around.

Moar ppl sick of so called "treasure" valuts:

Necro spree today, are we?
Aye, you don't need to necro a dead thread to tell everyone that there's a new thread about it.

Im just pointing out that the problem is alive and kicking.

switch graveyards with candlestick levels, then people will be glad when they get a treasure vault.

@Nicoya-Kitty
+10
Also if player is heavily injured and wants to avoid any risk, as Metagenic suggested, he doesn't have to "activate" Tortodrone and just proceed to terminal. Win-win situation.
@Happyapathy
lol, good one.

or, consider this...
make Graveyards on standard rotation and move the Candlestick Keeps to the graveyard spot. Add back the pucker factor.

MY idea is to switch graveyards with candlestick levels. Then people will be glad when they get a treasure vault.
;)

You don't see winks, Happyapathy? And slight changes in punctuation? And post #40?

Asukalanforum is it safe to say you have come to understand and agree with what I'm saying in your thread :

Would it not be better to make a guide outlining how to search for information From Old Threads on the forums before posting a new one about the same topic?-Xombie
*EDIT:
Oh, and this is absolutely hilarious.
Aye, you don't need to necro a dead thread to tell everyone that there's a new thread about it. - Darkbrady

I blame latency issues on me coming in 2nd on the candlestick suggestion. Also, Happy was using ASI trinkets.

that must be one sucky connection you have for your post to be nearly an hour later then mines :P

Replace the bronze/silver-bronze coins with silver/gold-silver. Well be set.

1 bar. :\ Wife was playing Words with Friends. I blame her second. But you first. :D

I want an arena gate... like, every level is arena. Every single possible level is arena. Only rotation is arena type and monsters in it. Plus graveyards to make it less routine. Plus arena bosses.
And please get rid of treasure vaults completely, leave only graveyards instead of "?".
And hooray to resurrecting old topics :)

what if the treasure vault was COMPLETELY flooded with treasure boxes? :) like packed, you cud not walk w/o clearing the boxes out? :)
i give permision for the devs to use this idea 8D
